dline created only 7 qb pressures

It really looked like he was focused on working his bull rush, seemed a bit strange.
 
They held every single pass play. And they were chipping our DE’s with TE’s and RB’s. It was their only hope.

They had 5 holding calls. You only hold when you’re about to give up a sack. If you factor that in, we could have easily had 6 sacks in the game. A 10 yard penalty is as good as a sack. All day long. This defensive line is legit. Show me a D-line in the country you’d rather have over our unit.
 
I’m convinced some of you can’t stand it when this program has good vibes. We all admit that this team has work to do, mostly because EVERY SINGLE TEAM IN THE COUNTRY HAS SOMETHING TO WORK ON. That said, the constant harping on things without sensible context is weird. The DL was stout against the run, and basically forced Stanford to have a gameplan of “Run as fast as you can away from the pressure or tackle who you are supposed to block”, but our “Fans” are acting like this DL didn’t flash. It’s WEEK ONE AND MIAMI GAVE UP 6 POINTS TO A P4 OPPONENT, ON THE ROAD.
 
Stanford’s offense played a bit like Louisville did last season against us. Get the ball out quickly. That game was also one of our lower outputs for hurries/pressures.

Give these guys a few games.

Same with Mark. Yall wanted him third string halfway through last season. Then he was a legend. Now back to third string …. Let’s see when it matters.

How fast did QB get rid of ball within 2 seconds? Most drops

We will have a lesser pass rush without Bain and Messidor

We will still generate pressure
And have a good pass rush

Relax and enjoy the season

People here got spoiled getting pressure every play right at the snap lol. Last year isn’t real life
 
I've been saying this but Pound for Pound, Lightfoot is quite strong and impressive against the run. Wish Damon Wilson at like 15lbs heavier was as strong at the POA against the run as him, if he is, We're good. Blount is strong against the Run imo. Still tbd whether he can actually contribute against the pass FROM THE EDGE. Losing Lowe really ***** us, but Scroggins got a lot of PT. Hopefully Charles gets more rotation too cause we will need him this seasons for sure. Was surprised to barely see Pickett. Think Keona Davis was mostly playing inside, he's probably too big to be anything more than 5tech or inside. Wiley was dropping down to the wide 9ish a few times too.

The thing is Wilson and Lightfoots strength will absolutely be pure pass rush. And with our offense, teams WILL pass against us more than they had to last year. In a track meet, our Dline will dominate in the long-run imo.
