dline created only 7 qb pressures

This is a meaningless raw stat.

When teams move the pocket, waggle, and quick pass, a raw pressure data point means next to nothing.

We still need to adjust to it, but the isolated stat doesn't prove much.

My exact thoughts!

Excellent game-plan and execution; Stanford isn't getting the credit they deserve in this regard.

I love it when the universe corrects nonsense.

After seeing them 2 games it’s pretty obvious that Stanford is a well-coached team, at least on offense.

If they can get a little healthier, I think they’re going to win a couple conference games that they weren’t expected to prior to the season and they definitely aren’t the worst team in the league anymore. That title now firmly belongs to BC.

We are not last years dline.
Stanford isn’t good but it’s still a p5 team.
Comparing stat lines with teams that allowed more points and went against non p5 teams is not indicative of the talent imo.

For comparison, Manny Diaz was always near the top of tackles for loss.
And that stat line didn’t mean jack sht with exception of the first 2 years he was here.
We allowed 6 points on the first game of the season against a p5 team 3 times zones away.

In general, we weren’t the normal fiery and aggressive defense we are used to seeing with Heatherman. I have a feeling the entire defense is going to shut fans up and come out flying

If it were me at DC and I knew we were cruising to victory early in the season, I would roll out the most boring vanilla defense possible. Wouldn't call anything that would showcase my top pass rushers because I'd like that to be a surprise for the better opponents.

Longest trip in FBS this season, to the west coast for many kids who have never experienced jetlag, going against a team that had already played a game goes into it as well.

That said, I don't think it is realistic to think we are going to be the same upfront as we were when we had two NFL first rounders including a player who I would consider to be one of the best Defensive ends we have ever had here.

This year is the year the staff earns their money.
