Out-of-state kid gets beaten out by a lower-rated South Florida kid and transfers. We've seen this story before. Kiy Hester was the last one.

This sucks because pass rushers are so valuable and DJ has talent. All eyes on Scott Patchan now.

Looking at under 10 scholarship Defensive lineman, DMoney. **** looks bleak. Idc if he got beat out or not, he was good enough to play here and we have no one to replace him. I'm starting to question our staffs ability to recruit on defense straight up. Too many losses and too many bad numbers to overlook.

What you talking about? They signed him. The dude wants to be at home with his momma. What the **** is the staff supposed to do?

You don't see it as a problem that we are about to have only 8 lineman on our roster next year? Isn't it the staff's job to manage their roster and limit the attrition to build quality depth? Who else is to blame? Maybe this kid is an acute case, but the fact we are going to be down to this low of a scholarship count is concerning. The staff is supposed to build the numbers up to be able to take hits like this. As it stands now, we are in a bad spot

Leaves the team and skips a game during the season. Starts following coaches from another team that he nearly flipped to. Nah. Nothing to see here.

I don’t know what we’re losing because he didn’t do anything here. So if we replace him with another guy with good potential then it’s a draw really. I can’t get too worked up over losing a guy who did nothing and is likely softer than puppy diarrhea based on his actions. Just replace him with another guy with talent who wants to be here.

But he's super fast in a straight line for such a big guy! Crippling loss any way you spin it!!

You can’t say Kaaya didn’t pan out when he’s your schools all time leading passer after 3 years lol. I don’t like the guy but ****

True. Im not a kaaya hater at all and hate seeing ppl sh*t on him. But most canes fans feel that he didnt bring us what he shoudlve brought us (even though I put all the blame on coaching) BUT his junior year was very underwhelming.

This one is potentially catastrophic. One of the headliners from last years class at a premier position gone. That’s huge. Its tough to go across the country when you’re 18 though and not get homesick. The real question is how much time do we put in on west coast guys if they leave in a year? He’s the first REAL loss in my opinion so far this offseason.

Anyone know a good tattoo artist in Sacramento? DJ has a U that needs covering

He should contact Kirby Freeman.
Oregon would work

These is why getting multiple big time recruits on the OL/DL is an absolute must in each recruiting class.

Some guys will transfer, some guys will get hurt, some guys won't develop or just aren't that good to begin with. We can't keep getting 1 big time guy per class, and a couple lower rated guys we like and cross our fingers work out.

In the last 3 classes we've signed 2 Top 250 OL, and 3 Top 250 DL (DJ was 1 of them). That's not enough to absorb any loses. We need to stack much more talent here.

Makes us not offering Jalen Phillips look foolish. Kid wanted to be a cane but we had DJ in the bag to we didn’t offer. FML.

Jordan wright too.

Honestly, I dont know were doing on Defense outside of LB and I was saying that before any of these transfers or going pro rumblings.

Our D Line and LB recruiting has been perplexing. There are plenty of D Jackson types in our backyard every cycle that we're sleeping on.

Of course the depth is a problem. I been one of the main ones saying we need more DTs. My thing was this situation with dj transferring isn't on them.

We have the 6th rated recruiting class in the country right now, We are gonna finish strong again. If its so bad just go and put the bullet in your head now....

Yeah bro I keep seeing tweets from Richt and Manny about how bright 2018 will be but I’m concerned at this lack of depth going into year 3. I understood the first two but **** this is a grueling process and the lack of aggression on the recruiting front you’ve mention makes matter worse. Spring is going to be brutal and we will learn nothing from plenty positions and that’s saddening.

**** all eyes on Coach Kool... Dude better live on the crooting trail and maybe dig up a nice Juco or two to keep everything grooving

It’s funny that y’all blame the staff cause DJ wants to leave and so does RJ/Norton. I understand trying to be ahead of your numbers but it’s hard to recruit when on paper your are loaded correctly. It’s hard to predict kids quitting and leaving early.

which is why you recruit high number and not do stupud sh*t like recruit 1 lb or 2 de for the year
