DJ Ivey - not hurt

Yep. Blades shouldve had the INT, and I have no idea what happened to McCloud when their QB tossed the ball up in the air hoping nobody caught it
Wasn’t even referring to that. I was talking about blades then couch fumble then smith pick

A polite NFL scout would say, "Lacks the ball skills you'd expect from a Miami CB."

A typical NFL scout would say what @Liberty City El said above.

A seasoned, more direct NFL scout would say, "WTF am I even watching here? How the f#$k is this your starting CB when you're literally based in Planet CB. It's either I should be talking to UAB about that WR, or you should lose my number. Don't f$&king call me about these guys."

Ivey is a big, physical guy who passes the eye test and he plays hard. Manny likes that &hit and rewards players for that (see Ragone and Few)... I love 'grit and heart / A for effort' guys as much as any coach, but at the end of the day I need talented guys on the field to make plays.

Ivey is simply not a good CB. His footwork, change of direction, overall reaction speed.... He's a liability out there and will most definitely be the target of opposing DC's.

He needs to be moved to Safety and rotate with Hall, Bolden and Carter. QUICKLY.

He can't cover & he has horrendous technique, on top of the fact he's just simply slow.

There was a play in the 3rd quarter where Myrin Mitchell absolutely dusted him, if Johnston would've made a good pass it would've went for 6.

And on that first TD, most of you will probably think Ivey was in the right position but he actually wasn't, he played it all wrong, he gave an open release off the line & gave away inside leverage, he was supposed to reroute him to the sideline & play the outside shoulder, he let the WR get completely around him on a 7 route to the back of the end zone, the reason why he didn't get his head around is because he was trailing the whole route & had bad eye discipline with no idea how to read the WR's hips & shoulders.

It's not a confidence issue, it's a technique, traits & skills issue, he's simply not a good CB & doesn't posses the capability to cover consistently. This is what I was railing about with him all offseason, he doesn't have any pluses to game, it's all minuses & OC's recognize him early as the weak link & will attack him at will as long as we continue to throw him out there.

He was & still is a huge liability in coverage, but the staff refuses to hold him accountable & sit his *** on the bench.
agree on the TD. awful, but I thought Bolden got caught cheating inside. He took a couple of steps to the middle when he probably should have been providing support to Ivey. Regardless, I have demanded that Ivey be benched. It will happen.

It depends on Bolden's coverage shell, but we shouldn't need a Safety with over top coverage in the red zone anyway.

Ivey had the Boundary, he literally has the sideline as an extra defender, all he had to do was cut the inside release off, jam & steer him towards to the sideline, flip his hips & watch the QB, when the end zone is directly behind you just box your man out basketball style & force the QB to throw it over your head, you should never have your back to the QB in the end zone.

lol....ive never liked Ivey Harley or Wiggins. I remember arguing Miami should have taking the guy that went to Baylor over Wiggins but people ands I mean lot of people thought Wiggins was better. Harley is trash and so is Ivey... out of the 3 i'dprolly toke Wiggins but that ain't saying much. As long as they start Diaz is a pos HC I can't stand those ***** guys. I'd line up against Harley tomorrow and body slam his *** and take a personal foul a..same with Wiggins. Throw me out the game I wouldn't even care 60 yards in penalties minimum ..if I punched both those guys dead in they chest watch what happen.

i agree entirely that Bolden wasn't *needed* but i *think* Ivey thought he had some help, but we wouldn't know unless we knew the call.

Please talk me off the ledge here liberty because I’m at my wits end with Ivey and the coaches responsible for continuing to put him out there. I purposely focused on him all game lastnight because he was complete trash last year and I was prAying he would’ve improved and he clearly didn’t. So my question Liberty, how is he still starting? Are couch and Williams really not better then this scrub?
