“I’m intrigued by cornerback DJ Ivey, a 7th-round pick out of the U of Miami who is 6 feet tall with the wingspan of a pterodactyl and 4.46 speed.
“I love DJ Ivey,” said cornerbacks coach Chuck Burks. “I think he has the traits you need to play that position at a high level.”

Quote is from Dan Hoard who covers the Bengals. Of course we all know he was a greentree all American. Still nice to see.

Ivey is not even greentree all american at this point. He is first ballot HOF.. His practices are legendary for getting coaches drooling.. This fits the MO. Hope he makes the roster and can get some checks before the games start

I see Ivey is up to his old tricks, again. 😂🤣😂🤣. Hopefully he can fool the coaches long enough to secure a spot on a roster.

Plenty of the breakdowns we saw were on dj. But vast majority of them was on the same safeties y'all swear are amazing. Y'all simply don't know what coverages were in and who's assignment is whose. But let's stick with always blame it on the underrated dudes cause it's more convenient than saying that five star safety ****ed up again...

Permission to **** on both of them?

Fake punt against GTech?
I know you will get mad at me for writing this but I don’t think he processed plays as quick as some other players and that made him appear slower than he actually was. Everyone looks at measurables, and even at preparation, but not enough attention is paid to how quickly people process information. And sports demands processions at lightning speed. Even with great preparation things will happen that demand an alteration to the plan.

I always write the disclaimer that processing speed is not intelligence. There are many intelligent people who don’t process as quickly as others. My daughter is studying to be an electrical engineer. In high school she was a very good softball player and good basketball player. She had perfect shooting form and a great handle. But she was sometimes a half second slow when plays broke down. She was a better softball player because the pace of play allowed her to analyze where to go with the ball before it was put in play. Processing speed.

I hope DJ Ivey succeeds. And I hope there is a system which allows him to do ONE thing becaus then his physical skills will shine. But I’m afraid if he has to make split second decisions the NFL will see the play that we saw the last few years.

I do think the safeties especially Kam said earlier in the season a lot of the assignments blown weren’t on the CBs but on them. But they cleaned up later in the season. I happen to root for Ivey. He gets way more bashing than he deserves on this board. If someone starts a narrative there’s no escaping it after that

There’s an opinion that I’ve left off of the board about a certain player in particular because it’s just not necessary and it would lead to nothing but negative reactions and meltdowns

But I’ll just say, I agree

Anyway, great to see about DJ. He’s a Cane all
the way

Guy isn’t even with our program anymore and you all want to **** on him still. He’s in the NFL, representing Miami and seems to be off to a good start and you all can’t get over the fact he didn’t have the best college career here. Get ******* over it, move on, and hope he kills it in the league.

I’m not going to be gaslit by anyone when it comes to DJ Ivey. Man coverage, zone coverage, tackling, run fits…I have seen this man get smoked in every situation a football game can provide over his 12 years at Miami. I hope he figures it out in the league. Good luck ✊🏾

I can tell you from watching him in practice for years now that his issue isn't how he processes information CONSISTENTLY. His issue is SOMETHING about when the lights come on gets caught in his head. He knows exactly what he should be doing. But he's the type of kid that needs constant positive reinforcement. He needs to be reminded that he's fine. Otherwise he questions each and every moment in time. His biggest problem is he needs to stop questioning himself or worrying about blow back from fans. He's one of those kids really affected by the negativity & it's sad cause he's a GREAT KID.

That last part about “in the league” just gaslit yourself
