DJ Dallas added weight

4 fumbles in 2 weeks how do you expect to play after that?
#13 who puts in 15 hrs of work each week for this U > fans rightly upset about our 4 game skid and looking for anything to lash out at.

DJ bleeds orange and green! yeah these fumbles hurt big time but to suggest that he is a JAG or bust or whatever is straight stupid

Never said he was a bust or anything. Just said that his fumbles are costly and needs less reps especially if Cam is emerging. It’s a shame Lingard got hurt cuz he has big time talent and would have been next in line.

I know Dallas works his butt off and would do anything for this school and team. Not questioning that. Probably should spend a little less time tho on social media during the season talking about nothing.

He should have stayed slim and played corner. RB does not look natural for him or wide receiver. Dude looked pretty decent against Devante Smith and Jeudy at Paradise. Both them WRs are smoking college football at Bama.

agree

Dallas needs to get down to 205 pounds and work out his fumbling issues and he will be fine. Lately he’s been running a bit to hesitant imo after the unc game

Feel free to disagree, but you would be wrong. If you eat less calories than you burn you will lose weight. Every single scientific study supports that. You can cut carbs to reach that deficit, but if you eat 5000 calories of protein and fat and 0 calories of carbs and you only burn 3000 cals a day you will gain fat. This not an opinion based topic it is a fact. There are some studys that support lowering carb intake to get into ketosis to burn even more calories, but even so you still need to be in a caloric deficit for it to work.

I believe you are wrong but I don't want to get into a battle of articles and studies. Just a quick glance at the article to which you link suggests you draw the wrong conclusions. Do you have medical or scientific credentials? I don't, but I find your certitude rather amazing. Your claim that"every single study" supports what is essentially your argument is rather bold. You must have some unusual professional credentials to make that sweeping statement.

I certainly did not draw the wrong conclusion. I chose that study specifically for the discussion because it specifically discusses the carb portion.

You do not need to be a medical professional to understand the most basic component of weight loss. You will find no reputable study that claims that you can lose weight while eating at a caloric surplus. It is physically impossible. Open up any textbook that deals with nutrition and it will explain how if you burn more calories than you intake you will lose weight.

It does not take unusual credentials to make that statement. Just like I can make the sweeping statement that you will find no study that claims a human can hold their breath for 5 hours without help from some sort of life support device. It is just common knowledge. If you wanted to get into the nuances of fat loss and if nutrient timing plays a part or any number of things then you would be served speaking to a professional. However, this is literally the most basic fundamentals that we are discussing.

Like I said feel free to believe whatever you want, but I want to make it clear for any forum member who is interested in losing weight DO NOT follow Matadors advice. It is completely false. I believe he has lost 100lbs and I believe he did this by cutting carbs, but that is because he also unknowingly cut his total calorie intake. If he cut 1000 calories worth of carbs per day and replaced it with 1000 calories of protein/fat he would not have lost any weight.

He was more effective as a lighter back/weapon. The added poundage has slowed him down. He's not cutting the same as in '17.

Not gonna touch his recent fumbling. You can be big or skinny and still have butter fingers.

Half of the effing poundage went to his hands. That's why the kid can't hold onto the ball. Sausage fingers.

I do see what everybody is saying, but it has nothing to do with him fumbling. That being said I don't know if its him or the S&C program, but he does look a little bigger and he is 5'10 at 220. There's really no need for him to be 220 rn. Duke Johnson is 5'9 210 in the NFL and is just fine, nobody is worrying about his weight or being too small. So, DJ should be around 205-210 and look ripped af, he can worry about gaining good weight when hes in the NFL.

I remember when duke had his fumble problem for like 2 or 3 games..threads like these are a microcosm of the stupidity that is in our fan base..DJ came as a ATH QB in HS Who was dynamic at that level as a runner. He was put at WR because we were thin in camp at WR his fresh year. When walton went down we needed a kid who can fill in that RB room. Dallas is RUNNING BACK at the college level. He was always a thicker kid (pause). Looks like a guy who is just gonna have to go the extra mile when it comes to his managing weight(genetics-Tyrone moss). He was never a burner. Always quicker than fast. From year 1-2 he hasn’t loss any long speed tbh..The only reason a thread like this is being made is his had two bad games. Y’all are overreacting and now acting as if the kid can’t play at all..

Good point about Duke. Plus what I recall about DJ gaining weight is that he needed to do so to better absorb and dish out hits. If people remember his before and after pics, he looked ripped, not fat. Agree with rest of what you wrote.

He's a better running back now than he was last season. (if you ignore the fumbles). With a putrid O line, you need a running back who can get hit at the line of scrimmage and still muscle out two or three yards. Maybe if the line ever opened up a hole, you could stick with 200 lb running backs but that's clearly not the case here. As much as nobody likes the boring three yard run, at least it makes converting on 2nd and 3rd down easier. Getting tackled for loss or no gain kills the offense.
