Interesting thought.

I think that Braxton Berrios is the best WR on our board right now (discounting E. Lane). I think Berrios has the potential for the most immediate impact. That said, I like Dixon's potential long term ceiling a little better.

I like Berrios, but really have to disagree. He's probably fourth after Dixon, Lane, Rudolph.

I believe #1 just so happens to be his current football number in HS too. I also believe it will be available next year once Hurns graduates! These are all signs! Come on Johnnie, commit already!!! The U wants you!!! Be a Cane!

I agree with you on this but I do think that Berrios is the best wr for the slot which as good as we are we don't have that 1 great slot wr that would make us complete

Couldn't agree more. I love berrios but Dixon is clear cut better

There are literally a dozen guys this year I like. I can think of 10 guys just like Steve Ishmael that I think would make perfectly good recievers here and we don't ever talk about them because we don't have a lot of slots. So I won't sweat who we do and don't get and how we prioritize them much till the ink dries because I have a high level of confidence in the talent pool.

Plus, jeebus does Langham look like a beast. That guy has as good a shot as any to be the best of the bunch in Florida IMO. Can't teach 6'5 that knows how to go get it. Some of the taller kids, you have to teach him how to use it. I coached basketball for a few years and that was always the biggest problem I had, its hard to teach somebody to want the ball. He can move pretty well too. Looks like a more fluid Rodney Smith to me.

Golden is a smart man for mainly going after Dixon right now, and at the end of the day if Lane wants in I'm sure The Tie will have a spot for him, especially when Eduoard decommits.

I don't think Berrios even touches Rudolph's potential. I understand you put it in the context of immediate impact, but I'm not seeing how. I suppose you mean through the slot position, except I suspect we'll see Dorsett and Malcolm Lewis in there quite a bit.

Isn't that fourth?

Rudolph
Lane
Langham
Dixon
Berrios

JMO. Not a knock on Berrios, just a beastly group.

Lol, yeah...sorry. Fourth. Actually maybe fifth after Langham.

I just have a hard time worrying about this years WR class. Right now we have

Hurns
Scott
Dorsett
Waters
Lewis eventually back at 100%
Coley
Carter

Only Hurns and maybe Dorsett leaving

We are bringing in at least Langham and Dixon. I think we got good shots at Berrios and Rudolph. With kids like Sam Bruce and both Irvins etc. in the mix the next few years Lane or other remaining elite WRs in this class just don't seem like a priority at the moment.

Is it possible the staff has Dixon higher than Lane on their big board?

Of course.

And they have seen both of them, A LOT. Dixon was at pretty much every function we had over the last year and so was Lane. They definitely had ample opportunity to see them around eachother.

That's it right there. Recruiting boards shouldn't be looked at in 1 or even 2 year timeframes. What if the staff likes Dorsett and Lewis in the slot better than Berrios, but also have next year's slot WRs projected ahead of him? There are at least 3 top notch slot guys in SoFla next year. Sam Bruce, as one example, is extremely impressive. Tim Irvin is another.

I would put:
1. Dixon
2. Lane
3. Berrios - but I think this guy can add something special to the team chemistry wise.
