So we do assume this is Zo right?

This is Zo, right?

The Army told me I cant have a second job that takes up too much time and detracts from my job in the forces. I had to turn them down, but I know UM will get the second best candidate out there.
You can submit a packet for a second job. It’s called “moonlighting”. I know a lot of medical MOS personnel who have done that. They are mostly officers who are some sort of MD / PsychMD and jobs of that nature. I also knew an Enlisted guy who did it as well so he could do Uber or something like that. Not sure what his MOS was but know he was just a Joe so wasn’t because of rank.

Yep, which has been the knock on Mario since Oregon. He grinds his assistants down and he tends to micromanage. For some that can work, for many others, no way.
I think that is both fair and unreasonable criticism at the same time. Does anyone think Saban does not have the same expectations of a work day? But if you are transparent about the expectations, I do not see a problem with it. An attorney out of law school can go to a Skadden or Cravath and know they will make a boatload, work on complex stuff, and have a strong resume building, but know they will have to bill 2500+ hours a year, or they can go to another firm, make less, and have more of a semblance of work life balance. The candidates in a way will weed themselves out based off their own personality and life goals.

I do hope the micromanaging is either overblown or shifts over time. I really can't speak on whether that is valid or not. Again using Saban as the comparison, he has really pulled back on that, particularly at the OC level in the last several years. With Mario, we will see what type of offense he wants to run come this fall, as QB will not be an issue like it was the last couple of years. Time will tell on this front.

Yep and that packet requires approval from the chain of command. Rank and MOS are an aside. The real issues come from optempo, your chain of command's attitude towards it as well as the hours of the job. It was only a joke because clearly I am overqualified as an infantryman to deal with the daily monotony of handling a football athletics program.

I agree. Some folks categorize bosses with high expectations as demanding and micromanagers if they are specific in what they want. I know that Saban is that way (and I'm sure Smart is to an extent) but most of all, whatever lessons learned Mario had from Oregon, I'm hoping he applies it here and continues to grow.

Unfortunately I'm over qualified.

On a serious note, forget about a life or family after reading that job description. I dropped a quarter or more off my annual income so I could actually see the kids grow up. Hope the little brats appreciate that one day.
I was going to do the same years ago and got luck that my company offered me the chance to remotely instead of leaving. Hard to put a price on being present and watching your kids grow up.

Clearly!!! 😂🤣😂🤣

Yeah most CoC’s will probably laugh at the request.

Lead the way!!!

I was in negotiations but I was told that I couldn’t troll FSU or UF on Twitter anymore if I took the job. Sorry guys.

Will be a monumental day for our program when Zo steps into this position. We’ve already made so much progress since Mario took over but zo walking into this role is so important. Mario with full support/backing as well as a very well respected and successful football mind like zo working side by side?! We’ve waited a long long time for this and it’s finally here. It’s bitter sweet
No way that Zo is leaving the NFL, which is 95% all things football....to come to UM and do all of that non-football related stuff.

I mean this job is logistics, admin, compliance, etc all wrapped up in one....

I'm too busy following all the Facts and Insiders here on CIS. Not sure I can handle talking to people who think they know more about assessing talent, recruiting and coaching than the experts here on CIS.

Exactly. Zo would be higher up position if he ever comes back.

I would have took the job but I had to turn it down because I have to focus on find potato

I was actually offered the job but it was later rescinded when I got into a shouting match with Rad about an Adidas "Large" really being an American "Medium to Smedium". He called me fat, I threw Mario under the bus for still wearing Nike shoes and it ended with Jenn Strawley putting me in a rear naked chokehold and repeatedly asking "Are you going to talk more respectfully now? Huh? I can't hear you." as the room slowly went black.
