The problem with most coaching hires is most ADs are lazy and will only hire the hot name or an alum because it’s easier to sell to the fans and boosters and don’t have the guts to hire a more “bland” name who is the better choice.

And yet the most frustrating thing is we’ve won with so many different coaches. Like you have to have a sabanesque coach to win in Nebraska. Not Miami. Just recruit your *** off and be moderately competent. I’d say any perennial top 25 coach can win here, if they can recruit, not just the 4-5 who’ve one a ship

Its a shame what happen over there. They got some really bad luck. They started out 4-0 and then lost the next 5 games. Before the Clemson game they had already lost their top 2 Wr's and there starting RB. All they had was Damien Alford left in the passing game. This season just wasn't meant to be
