When the season started King was not healthy. Anyone could see it against Bama. It's a joke what Manolo and staph chose to do. The right decision was to platoon TVD and Garcia and let it rip...instead you trot a guy out there that at best was 70% and then compound that further with terrible performances against App St and MSU.

Perhaps if TVD starts the Bama game this season looks much differently, i.e. UVA and UNC are both wins and you're now looking at 6-2 and atop the Coastal.

But back to original question, bringing back all these older guy was a waste of everyones time, kids who play for miami look for first chance to leave early, if a player has any pro prospects they are gone, asking guys to come back for 6 years is just causing depth chart glut that blocks younger guys from getting reps.. TVD/Knighton is a considerably better duo than King/Harris. Don’t think it’s too arguable now - and we’d never have seen it but for injury. Hate it for King/Harris who are both true Canes that gave their all and were good players , but these other guys are better.

King will always have my respect, kid gave it 150% every game. He might not have been the best QB but he won us multiple games on his own last year which people forget. What he did this year tho is incredible, that MSU game he had no business being out there but was still there putting his body on the line every snap.

King was great last szn, but he is extremely limited as a passer. I’ve posted his deep ball accuracy stats several times. He simply can’t stretch the field.

Once Clemson exposed him last year, that was it. Stack 8 in the box and make him beat you deep. He can’t.

I love these sentiments - I think King was a warrior too. But his throwing limitations were a factor and capped our upside with him. If TVD and Knighton start from Day 1 we’re 5-2 this year.
