Dawson needs to dial up some third down plays that are “mentioning Mendoza” levels of efficiency
I believe word on street is he, and family, very much wanted him here this year.Mendoza came out of Columbus and wasn't recruited. He said you ain't with me when I'm down, I ain't with you when I'm up.
He made the right choice
I welcome you to go back to this board when Mario was recruiting a transfer. Cis was killing him talking about nepotism and Cuban mafiaView attachment 342067
Wow, Wasn’t he the kid at cal last year , supposedly UM fan ? What gives
thoughts
(Beck has played tougher schedule imo)
As I’ve stated for the past several weeks, the scheme is designed to protect Beck and try to hide the fact that he isn’t good.Mendoza has a sound offensive system that has been tested over many different teams at many different levels of college football
The other has an offensive system that is has failed over and over again
Not defending Beck, but lets not think Mendoza wouldn't look like ish here either
Makes you wonder if the family wanted both at Miami…. Maybe that was the issue?I was in favor of bringing Mendoza in during the portal window after we lost out on Mateer, although I did not anticipate he would be as good as he is. I think it would be fair to say CiS generally was not big on Mendoza (with some exceptions like @PIPO).
I believe IU modified its offense some for him to go RPO heavy. Mendoza makes really good decisions out of RPO and they run a lot of outside and inside zone off that. Mendoza is also just enough of a running threat.
Shannahan is a **** good offensive coordinator, so it is hard to know how Mendoza would have done here. But I suspect he would have been at least as good as Beck (probably better) and much less expensive. Also, Mendoza's brother has looked really good when he's gone in for mop up duty.
Cuse does have lbs that are big and can just hammer down though so i dont expect some rushing offensive explosion....also their dbs arent bad an fran brown is a db coach he is gonna dare beck to beat us.....i havent looked but if this is a three score spread im taking syracuse. With all the Let It Rip talk... I do want to point out CUSE sucks at Rush Defense and is OK at Pass Defense. The one game we should be RUNNING is vs CUSE. We really need to let it rip vs PITT who is top 3 in the ACC in Rush Defense.
As for Mendoza, good for him. Sad that a kid who went to the same HS as our HC couldn't land here.
Cam is living proof…As I’ve stated for the past several weeks, the scheme is designed to protect Beck and try to hide the fact that he isn’t good.
You can’t force a system that your qb can’t run without turning the ball over multiple times a game.
We would not be running this offense th same way if we had a qb that could stretch the field and get the ball to multiple receivers without interceptions.
Last i saw it was a 4 score spread, lol.Cuse does have lbs that are big and can just hammer down though so i dont expect some rushing offensive explosion....also their dbs arent bad an fran brown is a db coach he is gonna dare beck to beat us.....i havent looked but if this is a three score spread im taking syracuse.

Not sure about that. Alberto is 15/21, 204 yards, 4 TD, 1 Int in mop up duty. But I think Tyler Cherry may have been ahead of him on the depth chart if he wasn't out the entire season with an injury. Cherry was a 4* and a top 25 QB in his class.Makes you wonder if the family wanted both at Miami…. Maybe that was the issue?
This. How folks can’t understand this is crazy work.I don’t think Beck is all that, but the issue is more a system thing. I think Mendoza would have struggled here too, and people would be *****ing about it too.
And Bingo was his name-oY’all are ******* delusional if you think Mendoza would look the same at Miami like he does Indiana
