I want a team that throws haymakers, this is Miami.
and in his introductory press conference with temple he alluded to that’s what he would do at Miami and it was such a stark difference from richts philosophy this year.

He was an awful hire and a lazy one. BTW, Swinney won a national title as a player. He coached for Stallings. Dude at least has been part of a winning program and tradition. Yes, nobody knew if Dabo would work out after Bowden resigned. Seriously, what has Diaz won as an assistant or coordinator? A conference title?

Don't matter. His defense plays the way it's supposed to and never quit on this trash offense. Manny needs to spread "the standard" across the entire team and let the OC do what they do.

Reading the board most of today, most fans wanted a hire that brought some identity and the Manny Diaz hire does it. Diaz defense is fast and aggressive and Diaz is not a CEO.

Diaz defense has been good for our recruiting base because SFLA athletes like to play fast and they don't want to all that read and react crap that Golden brought. Now you have to ask yourself what type of offense Diaz would want to run? I expect his desired offense to be in the mold of his defense, aggressive and fast. If manny brings in an OC that implements a fast and aggressive offense then he is not going to have issues recruiting.

I will end by saying I don't know if Diaz is going to work out any more than Clemson knew if Dabo was but I do think Diaz is a smart guy and understands what we need to win.
I agree . At least manny looked engaged and like he cared about his team on the sidelines.

exactly... Diaz is innovative and young and hungry. He is the exact opposite of Richt, Golden, and Coker. Dude adjusted his defense and added a striker position and gave us a top 5 D. Innovative guy. Everything rests on his OC. He brings a guy like him on that side of the ball and its lights out.
He didnt add anything to the defense. He used a striker at msu.

Diaz has worked for coaches who have won championships

Yeah, he was errand boy on Bowden's staff. He coached for Mack Brown who was running a ***** show who fired him in mid-season. Again, as a paid position coach or coordinator give an example where he was at program that was winning or competing for its conference?

This is a high risk/high reward hire. Manny could end up being the next Lincoln Riley and could light the ACC and CFB world on fire. The other side of this is that he could be out in three seasons if he doesn't get it done. Two things he had that the last few coaches haven't:

1) The guy is a motherfuc*er. He's competitive and will do anything to win. He's been a straight up maniac on the sidelines throughout his tenure as DC. The guy is passionate whereas Richt was emotionless most of the time.

2) He's got a ton of money to hire the best offensive staff in CFB.

We've got to wait and see what'll happen but this is not a horrible hire. It's certainly wasn't the best we could've made out of the gate, but this could pay off big.

He will either be the next coach fired or a total legend. There will be in no between. We are rolling the dice, but I’m not mad. I’m happier with Manny vs Mario. I live out west. Getting your *** beat by Arizona, is not a good look at all.

Do you think it’s acceptable to hire Diaz before even starting a coaching search?? Without even interviewing one other candidate??

your an admin your suppose to bring this good news, this was a terrible hire and lazy. They hired someone who fielded a defense vs the ACC and he never recruited at Miami. My thing will be 2019 if hes in the top 5 in recruiting and closes and holds off Saban hard then I'll believe. I believe he will recruit the same way as the last 4 with our hat being on the table thats it. Until we do that we wont be back. Recruits like it and they say that and they will still sign with other teams.

Most people who have seen my post know I saw what I think. A lot of my post are not very popular. The whole situation is fluid and the OC hire will either solidify my opinion and make me realize I was way ******* wrong, there is no middle grown.

It's about the worst hire that could have been made...you couple that with the rumors about him hiring the ex co offensive coordinator from St. Brendan's high school and it makes all of this the worst dream a Canes fan can have.

They won't even allow us to be happy for 24 hours
