Not to be a party pooper, but let’s take a deeper look at Fedora. He was OC at UF in 2004. He was OC at Oklahoma St. from 2005-2007. His offense ranked

UF
2004: 19. The prior year it was 34.

OSU
2004 (year before he took over): 17
2005: 97 (yes that is correct 97. A drop of 80).
2006: 7 (jump of 90)
2007: 22

Southern Miss (HC)
31, 18, 15, 14

Also, his offenses at UNC ranked:
8, 43, 38, 9, 44, 83.

So what we can ascertain is that his offense as the primary play caller is inconsistent with peaks and valleys.

Having lived in NC for some time, I'm of the opinion that the general high school coaching population are a bunch of whiny types. They like their hands held and sweet whispers in their ears. There are a few that aren't but most...
 
Ok, but I recall Weis having more experience than Muschamp as a head coach and it didnt work out. Whatever. Hire him.
 
I do remember his team in Carolina running the score up on us and turning the U upside down. Pay back was a ***** thought when we got them in Miami. He might make sense but others are out there too.
 
Fedora, a proponent of the spread offense, was previously offensive coordinator at Middle Tennessee State, Florida and Oklahoma State.

His offenses have put up big numbers during parts of his career.

When he was introduced as North Carolina coach, he summed up his philosophy with a quote from George S. Patton: ”Instead of waiting to see what might develop, attack constantly, vigorously and viciously. Never let up, never stop, always attack.”

That philosophy meshes with Diaz’s.

If North Carolina wants to fire Fedora, they'll pay a massive buyout of $14 million. That figure, instituted when he signed a contract extension in 2017, months after leading his team to the ACC title game, drops to $10.5 million after the 2019 season, $7 million after 2020 and $3.5 million after 2021.

Over him 1 Million he still gets to keep his 13 and keep his name hot and relevant. Two years he will be here and we will lighting up the acc

That quote made me hard.
 
I will say his teams were 3-9 in 2017 & 2-9 this year, so something went colossally wrong at UNC what specifically idk.

BUT in 2015 he did go 11-3 & put together a **** good Offense. He made a below average QB like Marquise Williams look good throwing for 3,072yds 24TD's 10INT's 61.2%cmp & rushing for 948yds with 13TD's due to that system they ran. And I know yall remember that season when they beat the fck out of us.

He does however have a winning record as a HC being 79-62 so he has a wealth of great experience to bring to the practice field & meeting room, which would be refreshing from have a room full of fckin HS coaches & GA's trying to run the show.

He also recruited & developed Mitch Trubisky, he was a 4-star Dual threat out of Ohio & was even won the Mr. Football award for Ohio (which goes to the best player in the state), which tells me Fedora can recruit & can do more than just land layups.

I'm all in with Fedora due to the Offense he'll implement & his ability to land a QB and develop him. I really really hope he helps us forge a pipeline into Texas for a QB, man if this happens our Offense will be drastically better overnight from the 1980's Richt/Bowden debacle we've had here the last 3 years.

It is true he burned a lot of bridges with NC High School coaches. It’s one of the reasons Mack was hired to repare those relationships.

Context is key. Especially in his last couple of years at UNC. Give him Miami talent and let’s ride.

Something to be said about finishing top 10 in offense 2 years at UNC. Definitely inconsistent though. Concerning he didn’t have better rankings in the weak ACC.
 
Wasn't this the guy denying that football caused CTE? And that our country would go down if the game of football was changed too much?

if anyone gets a mulligan it's fedora in his last year or two at UNC when they have like 500 injuries and he was on his 3rd string quarterback

Those last couple of years at UNC we’re plagued by unprecedented injuries and suspensions. I’ll give him a pass. I think with our talent, and the fact he could focus exclusively on offense, gives us a great chance to succeed.
