Really, we are talking about two things here:

1) Blake James’s negligence

and

2) What Manny can do to salvage his job.

1) has been well covered, screamed about, documented. James is a fine fundraiser but literally awful at the other aspects of being AD.

2) Manny is a lot of things but he is NOT stupid. His best, and really only, path forward is to swallow his ego, hire a DC that scares the **** out the players and give that DC full autonomy.

**** Bobby Bowden is an all timer and he didn’t do anything but give his OC and DC room to run their stuff.

Additionally, our problem on D is compounded because in order for Manny’s scheme to be effective against legit Offenses, he needs very good lb’s and very good safeties — we have neither.

Golden couldn’t swallow his ego. Richt quit before he was forced to make a tough decision. What will Manny do? Time will tell
