DHucks

Absolutely.

You didn't know that already? It's bad man- real bad.

It just sucks they are taking it away from Carter. If you said something out of line ok, fine. You apologized as a man should do. They aren't hurting you though, they're taking it away from Carter.

Exactly. I could rant about it, but y'all are smart enough to know what I'd say. I'll say that I'm very bitter about it. Very.

There is a lot of mis-information in this thread.

The one thing that is correct is that members of the athletic staff do read the boards.

Not sure what you're inferring is misinformation. Something I've said?

The FSU rant might have been the nail in the coffin for you, but like any house guest that stays too long, you get comfortable and overstep some boundaries.

So.

Which one are you?

Many people were telling you last year the school was using your son for good PR. Same with the banner with his name on it, all ppl trying to capitalize off a kid. Not surprised at all that they got ghost as soon as you saw through the bull****. A bunch of snakes in the grass.

Example? We don't live in Florida. They came to us way more than we came to them. VT game was their doing, the pre game message before the FSU game, theirs too, banners, not our idea, YouTube video on them.

We wanted to go to Disney for a few days, go to a practice on Friday, a game on Saturday, and home on Sunday. They took us the duration of the week.

So again, what misinformation do you speak of, and what were the events leading up to this nail you speak of?

You're casting aspersions, I'm stating facts, feel free to join me, if not, then move along.

I'm just coming through to pick up the mic.

Very few people will do something nice for someone (whether they benefit from it or not), get publicly slapped in the face and be happy about it.

The irony in that of course being that us boosters feel the same way.

Glad we can agree that being **** on in public is grounds for being ****ed.

I agree as well, I admitted I was in the wrong, and offered to do whatever it took to make it right.

They cut Carter off at the end of the day. For folks saying family around there, certainly didn't feel like it.

I'm going to bet the only regret is the conversation you had about being wrong. Your posts about Carter's experience were one of a select few, that shed something positive on the program leading into the season.

If it was all about Carter. then you should have been irrelevant. They ushered in a few band members, got Sebastian to bounce around, fulfilled a make a wish obligation, snuck in a feel good tv segment and produced a Raising Canes episode.

The dopes handling things within the AD would have cut-off Carter anyway. You somehow got suckered into guilt, or to lie, for Carter's sake.

For the athletic dept lurkers responsible for capturing and monitoring fan mood/comments. It's best to just walk away from such a shallow denigrating task, your superiors don't care for or about you. It would also be best to shed light on other dept ineptitude, before another donor gets suckered into further contributions.

LMAO at anyone trying to spin this as acceptable behavior for UM.

They **** the bed. Again. Like usual.

Kinda relevant, but I was ticked off with some things on how they give out news about the tennis team and mentioned it on Twitter. The next day, the official Canes Tennis Twitter account unfollowed me. I had about five of the team members following me but the next day everyone of them unfollowed me and I never heard from them again. So I unfollowed them all back. Later on, the tennis score updates were pathetic and someone was not doing what they were supposed to be doing. I tweeted Freet about it and apparently he got on someone's case there and the updates started coming in as they should. Then Canes Tennis followed me, I followed back and I believe it was this woman called Amy LaBrie who sent me a private message to tell me to tell her directly if there was a problem. Like they ever responded in the past. Then they unfollowed me straight away. It was pretty hilarious and pretty much started the slow loss of enthusiasm I had to support the team the way I was. Something is seriously wrong over there. They don't know how to do their job, they don't care enough to do a good job or they are too short-staffed to do good a job in anything. Sad situation.

It's quite sad because there are some good people who work in the Athletic Department, and actually care about UM sports, but they unfortunately get drowned out by the inept higher ups who don't have a f*cking clue and are just a bunch of sorry *** "yes men".

It's absolutely infuriating.

I'm not going to get into a mud throwing contest, especially on a message board, but just know that you ****ed off staff not because of what you said but because of the way you treated people as if they were employed by you and owed you something.

There is one thing for them to extend gratitude to you and MORE IMPORTANTLY Carter, but when it becomes a matter of entitlement, that is when the issue arises.

I am vocal about this staff not being the right fit here, and all of their flaws as there are many, however, what you are framing in your argument about them cutting you off over some stupid rant on a message board is simply untrue.

The irony of a UM shill trolling a message board and arguing valiantly that UM shills don't troll message boards for arguments.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Entitlement? Huh?

Somebody is lying to you. What you are saying is ridiculously false.

Again, either deal in facts instead of aspersions, or keep it moving. I never asked them for anything. I asked Duke for a ball if he scored in the Cincinnati game, and that was just me asking him. Other than that, nothing.

I would love to hear more about this entitlement I had. Put me on blast, giving you permission to air my supposed dirty laundry. If you can't or won't, don't bother posting again.

This misses the whole point here.

In my mind, as a father of a very recent Cane grad, the primary mission of everyone at a university is to teach those who attend to be better prepared for life. If you work at the university you are either directly working with students to teach them or helping support the environment that is designed to provide that experience for the students. We trust that is what will happen when we send our kids to be in their care. (Within a football program this will actually help win games if done right)

I don’t care if DHucks started acting like Leona Helmsley or Donald Trump, which seems unlikely given his posts; if you freeze out a young boy who is ailing what message does that send to the “student athletes” who are placed in your charge? The university produced a video that enveloped this boy into the team and in the process encouraged players to open their hearts to his plight. Then, if we believe what is said here, supposedly the coaches didn’t like how dad acted they freeze the kid out. Aside from how the young lad feels, what kind of message is that to send to the players? They have to feel that if the coaches can do that to a young boy that they capable of doing the same to them if they step out of line. Those arent values that build families.

We might not have all the facts here. Nonetheless, from where I sit (admittedly 3000 miles away) it would sure seem to that they should have an open door policy for this young man. If I was coaching, aside from having an aggressive defense, this boy would be getting the very newest gear from Adidas on a regular basis. While it would serve the boy well it would also be a great lesson for those on the team about what a family really is. No family is perfect and without disagreements but true love & loyalty above all is pretty special. It looks to me that AG missed a perfect opportunity to teach that to those what loyalty REALLY is.

This whole subject saddens me. I look forward to the day I can cheer for both the CANES and the staff.

You have already gotten yourself into one at this point. Now you are simply throwing non specific, unsubstantiated insults at a member of the fan base, specifically a sick kid and his family that you and the rest of the worthless **** bag lackeys in the athletic department took advantage of for some good press. The father has given you permission, speak to what you are alluding, try and save some face by ****ing on the ashes to put the fire out.
