i know someone will tell me i don't understand how it is for him where he's at with the gangs and all, but, as mentioned, and we've discussed this before, why isn't he dead already? and they'd get to north florida in 8 hours if they want to find and kill him. they don't want to kill him until after he graduates from hs?

It's a very complicated gang. He's OK attending Miami Central High School daily, but the minute he attended school in Coral Gables, it would get ugly. However, they reciprocate and honor a safe zone truce with their gang colleagues/rivals in Tallahassee. Laws of the streets man, kid has to get out.

Tally is 10000X more ghetto than Coral Gables. Half the city is basically in ruins. As a full grown male I felt like I could get jumped at any moment walking the streets there at night.

Amazing. I haven't been to Tally in over forty years. It's fairly big, it can't be like that everywhere. I don't think the question is whether Coral Gables is the bad environment--it's easy enough to get to C.G. from wherever they are in the city. Look-we've had two kids killed while they were in the program. Marlin Barnes was just a personal vendetta, I think, over a woman. Bryan Pata might have been a gang thing although nothing has ever come out. It's strange it's gone unsolved. You'd think somebody would talk and it would get back to an informant. Maybe it doesn't work that way in Miami. Maybe the gangs down there are more ruthless and tightlipped, perhaps because anybody even suspected of talking gets taken out real fast.

I don't know when all this gang stuff started. When I was younger, you never heard of them in Miami, or Tallahassee. Gangs were up north, like the Blackstone Rangers, or out west, like the Crips and Bloods. Of course, I'm going back many years. I think the Blackstone Rangers existed in the '60's though.

easy to get to cg from anywhere in the city? i mean, if he did something that bad, they could get to tally and back in the same day. and if he's on the fb team, it's not like he'd be hard to find.

So this gang has no ability to get to Tallahassee or Gainesville where proven time and time again the police cannot catch anyone doing anything?

Its a bicycle gang. He is safe anywhere north of West Palm. Also, they all have to be inside before the street lights come on. So thats why hes safe as long as he is in class.

Foot clan. Would take them months to walk to Tallahassee.
