Im not worried about what the rest of you fans say because if Golden wins ten games everybody thats talking s**t will put their foot in their mouth.
when we struggled with a 2-8 Maryland team I knew he wasn't cut out to be our next head coach.
LOL, its sad how little perspective we have.
One problem from the message board perspective is the arrogance, tone and extremes that people use when making their posts. Also when posters allude to certain elements like race (is Golden going to be fired after this year like Randy was after his 4 years), politics (Shalala) or that the NCAA investigation had no impact (the "cloud"), it doesn't exactly set a tone for reasonable discussion.
I'm not sure I read a lot of people saying Golden is infallible or deserves a life time contract because he is an awesome coach.
I don't think saying he has dealt with a lot more than the average coach has to deal with in his time at Miami so far is an unreasonable, homer or slurper statement. None of that changes that he still needs to start winning.
And.....since some of you clearly forgot --- it is not about being right.....it is about Miami winning football games.

I think this post right here exemplifies the issue with a lot of the garbage being posted on here lately. You start your post by referring to posters who take too "extreme" a stance....and then you turn around and refer to Golden as an "awesome" coach.
Forget awesome...if we put all emotion aside and look at the fact, the body of work, and the game by game details....he's below average at best.
Go find some perspective before you post something like this. You're right in that the only thing that matters is wins...and as Canes fans that's all we all want....but to ignore the fact that fraud of a coach is 1-11 against the only 12 teams he's played that have finished with winning records is the definition of ignorance.
The simple fact that at the END OF THIS THIRD FULL YEAR we manage to get blown out by the 18th best team in the country despite the fact we had 30 full days to prepare for the game tells you everything you need to know about the direction of the trend.

I don't think he called Golden an awesome coach.

I think he is saying no one thinks the above.
As for the 30 days, did they have 30 days to prepare? This doesn't excuse the fact that we sucked in the game but it's not like during the regular season where one team has an open week (more time to prepare) than the other team who just played an opponent.

Fire the President of a top 50 University in the country, the best university in the 4th biggest state in the country, because the football team isn't winning as many games as you think they should?

Poster misreads post reading through I Hate Golden glasses, then flips out. Proving the point that people are too extreme.

LOL @ "the whole blaming shalala thing is stupid".
I swear our fanbase is the dumbest in the nation. Ya guys she has nothing to do with it. Our athletic directors (focus on the "s" behind director) have flourished here.

Having an obsessively negative outlook over things you can't control is the beginning of mental illness. This is simply a plea for sanity.

It's too late for me. Others may still have a chance at a normal life with enough therapy.

So we've had multiple athletic directors. They've gone on to take jobs at institutions such as Nebraska that offered double what we could pay, and has an athletic budget and endowments FAR in excess of what a small school like Miami has. The other was never comfortable in Miami and left to get back closer to home.
So in your genius and amazing insight, what exactly, give me specifics, has Shalala done that is negative towards the football program?
