Oh brother, you have to love these numbers thrown around by other programs who legitimately have no clue what they speak of.

We are not overspending, we are simply OUTSPENDING our competition.

The reality is, UM does not only top 5 in NIL, but I would say we are at the very top of honoring our NIL deals. That is a huge component as quite a few big paying schools have had incidents not honoring deals.

I mentioned this when the whole saga started with the Cantwell recruitment and all the stories by the media started popping up about our spending. That was a collective effort by the big click schools + media to try and derail us. Nobody and I mean nobody wants Miami anywhere near back on top, they know what the ultimately means for their programs. They will continue to do this regularly and not let up.

Ultimately, they are dumb, because in a day and age where money is now #1, all they are doing is helping us. Thanks for letting everyone know are outspending you publicly.

There are no more discounts for the top programs. No more of the best simply going to the top 3 or 4 schools. You either play ball, or end up crying like we see with Ohio State, Georgia, etc. as they lose blue chip kids they are used to locking up cheap.
You know, it's not just about the $$. The sour grapes money stuff from our rivals is filtering in to our fans as well. Mario was an excellent recruiter before NIL and UM has a lot to offer. Great place for a young guy to live and we've caught up as far as facilities and extras. Yea having the $$ helps but it's not everything . Ostensibly a lot of these guys would come here anyway if we weren't in the NIL era.

Why do they keep lying about Coopers family not wanting him to stay home for school?

Because it makes their fanbase feel better, and they know that nobody is going to take the time or make the effort to rebut it.

A related lie is "Player X really loves Ohio Taint's academics and living in Columbus". I mean, you know it's a lie, but who is going to stand up and say it's a lie?

My man, numher ONE is the money. Spafford does not come here without the offer. You can choose to believe that, but if we did not have the NIL that we have in place, we would not be even in talks for half the guys we are.

I realize there are a lot of recruits we wouldn't be in he game for without the money, but we act like no one would be interested in Miami if not for the money and that's ridiculous.

Yes. You have to take both aspects into account.

Did Miami have the #1 offense in the country last year? Yes.

Do new players want to play for that offense for free? No.

I'm not saying it is the only reason, but it is #1. Listen, be happy, thrilled, elated we are one of the biggest spenders. We have all wished for the day Miami could play the bag game at an elite level, and now we can, but better being that it is legit.

I never could have dreamed UM would be considered one of the top programs when it comes to spending on players. Dreams do come true.

I am right there with you. So happy the admin and friends of Miami have prioritized football. If we can just start getting to the playoffs, it's going to pay off bigtime.

Question -- are we truly in the Top 5 though? My sense is we in the bottom half of the Top 10 in NIL overall, not Top 5, much less #1. All the top BiG and SEC programs (UTX, Oregon, Taint, Bama, Georgia, USC, etc.) plus Clemson and ND seem to be bringing the heat with NIL. My understanding was that most programs distribute their budget more evenly and then ***** when we outbid them for a specific target. Any insights?
