Not sure what the point is as there are only 4 conferences, & many of the coaches currently at P4 schools spent majority of their time at G5, Independent programs or are 1st yr HCs, but sure I’ll oblige.

Active Coaches:
Day
Dabo
Smart
Riley
Whittingham
Rodriguez (Big East)
Ferentz
Bielema
Kelly (Big East)
Jones (Big East)

Nice try though.
There were 5 when he won his 2 conference titles. It’s not his fault the pac-12 is no more. 3 of the coaches on your list won a conference that doesn’t exist anymore. And why didn’t you put Mario on the list?

That’s not a very long list. It doesn’t seem like winning a power 5/4 conference championship is that easy. And those seem to be some very well thought of and accomplished coaches. But here on this board the fact that Mario has done something no many coaches have it’s belittled and made to seem insignificant.

Interesting

…. Nice try? You just made a pretty **** good list of successful coaches lol.

Like if 6 of those coaches make this years CFP it wouldn’t be surprising to me lol

Interesting

1. It is when u’re playing in the weakest conference w/ literally no competition for recruits

2. When one of those conference titles u didn’t qualify for

3. That u tried ur damnest to skew the data to single out current coaches who’ve won multiple P5 conferences, when coaches like: DeBoer, Fickell, Kelly, Kiffin, etc have multiple conference titles based upon their competition level.

However, nothing that happened at UO means **** here. Go be an UO fan if that’s what u’re rah-rahing about. We’re talking Mario @ The U, not Mario @ FIU or UO.

Is it that hard for people to just answer questions or have a discussion without throwing in bull**** to fit a narrative? The big east was never considered a P5 conference. Ever.

This post becomes written in permanent ink in December, but if Cooper doesn’t sign here it’s a reprehensible whiff and honestly very telling to the overall trajectory of the program.

And I’m not one for hyperbole, so I’m not saying this is some death knell or something, it’s one kid at the end of the day. But the reason I wanted Mario here was to win exactly these. This will now have been 2 straight classes the lead-pipe top kid in the area got out of town. I’ll never be cool with Taint getting Smiff, but I understand that one, for reasons discussed ad nauseam.

Derrek Cooper going to Texas would be flat inexcusable and unacceptable.

Here’s 🍻 to Javian Mallory out producing Cooper when Mallory gets to Miami. Mallory averaged over 10ypc in Palm beach county for two years and I’m assuming Cooper has more talent around him than Mallory.

Mario won the conference twice, period. Stop dancing around the facts because it doesn’t fit your narrative.

It’s the truth no matter what fan im a team of.

How is USC overcoming their slide the past 10-15 yrs?

Are they just paying out the *** for HS recruits this cycle? They’re paying a “suck tax” just like Miami, but I’m guessing having an extra $20-$30 mill per year in tv money, they can afford it a bit easier than us

FSpoo put out an article after they had the Thomas kid flip the other day. Their staff reached out to Mallory. He told them to suck a bag of ****s. He’s locked in with Miami, lose my number. That kid went up a few notches with me.

Would like to be wrong but d$ and Pete already said before he pushed the commitment back it wasn’t going to be miami then and that it was looking like uga. And now it’s Texas. So at best maybe miami is 3rd in the recruitment.

Weird recruitment. The national guys and everybody was all basically saying the same thing that he was likely ending up at miami. Then after he postponed his commitment then it comes out Miami wasn’t going to be the pick then and now Texas has all the momentum with no ov

It's a far worse miss optically than it is a needle mover on the field IMO. Smith to Ohio State was a far bigger loss than not getting a *borderline* 5 star guy at a position that you can no longer say you necessarily need a bell cow at.

Agreed. And this isn’t 1989. This “state of Miami” **** doesn’t hold the same weight. But this kid is a BALLER, period. IDGAF about bell cow. This kid makes your football team better and helps you win football games, full stop. You can’t let him go to ******* Texas. You’ve been recruiting him for 3 years. It’s not the pure impact of smiff, again I agree. But we’ve lost “this kid” for years now. You can’t let this happen. It’s a colossal whiff on the field and an even bigger one optically.

He's been to Austin before. Their offer is no doubt very lucrative (and probably higher) but there also is likely just as clear of a path to plating there than their would be at Miami. Wisner will likely leave for the NFL, as will Baxter if he has a bounce back year. Jerrick Gibson is going to be solid, but outside of him, I can't see Cooper as any worse than RB2 the second he gets to campus.
