It’s just being disingenuous bringing up Oregon or Manny Diaz at this point he’s been here long enough

Gotta see the 2024 recruiting class and the 2025 portal class come together better than past classes for sure

I would agree sure

But realize that no one or at least very few teams' hs classes seem to be "coming together" like they used to…Unfortunately it's not just bad players or busts that leave via portal. Sometimes you have good players or players that on their way to developing that leave and you have to replace them with good players and judge the whole thing as one.

for me, we have kids who cut bait on without even properly giving them a shot to develop but spent NIL money on. just a waste of money in general

Mario has been here long enough that we can stop ever mentioning Manny anymore. you only need 4 seasons imo to figure out if a coach is it or not. this is the money year for Mario for me.

You’re bringing up a good point that takes another level of conversation

I almost said the same thing

Another layer to not mentioning the past with this stuff is because honestly it’s all changed too much. It’s just not fair to make comparisons sometimes

Like when people would say Manny was better than Mario in the portal I would just wince

You guys do know, Oregon wasn’t even supposed to go, but the other team couldn’t make it because of Covid. And Oregon beat a USC team who had wins that season over Arizona, ASU, UCLA and Wazzu.
What do you know another thread diminishing anything Mario has done.

Bottom line he went to LA and beat the #13 Trojans for thr conference title.

What is the point of jumping in every thread to bash Mario? People know Oregon got to game because ot Covid outbreak. It was a weird disjointed season. Still he capitilized and won. He could have lost the game you know?

Going in to last season I said if Mario can’t win with that team then he can’t win here

I was posting Cam Ward Heisman stuff in the spring I was that much of a fan of his

We won 10 games and had some great moments. Is that “winning”?

Tough to say we won when we came up short on all the big goals

Is Mario’s plan working or is it just a different version of Mannys flying by the seat of your pants mentality?

flying by your seat given how often we make staff changes. were just trying to fit diff blocks until we get it right. nothing done with any real strategy.

Welcome friends to another day of healthy, friendly, and positive discourse.

Today should be an exciting one!! At around 1930 tonight we will be in full swing with the healing process and the joy that comes with opening up emotionally with friends.

DMoney has set up a complimentary chamomile tea station with locally sourced honey and non dairy creamer.

Trenton brought sound bowls all tuned to harmonic peace frequencies.

Thanks to our friends at FRM who provided the one and only 🔌 Peter with red LED light blankets! If you need k9 emotional therapy he also brought Honey his companion dog that absorbs negative and sad emotion and also cleanses your chakra.

We will be awaiting with great anticipation any reports from our in house shaman Gabby U.

By 2000 we should all be in an elevated state of complete and blissful meditation.
If for some reason you don’t feel like the chamomile isn’t hitting right, we have as a last resort micro dose Ayahuasca beautifully enclosed in an orange and green glass flask made from the sands in the Altacama desert.

Let us now if you are allergic to sage as we will burning it through the evening meditation. Epi pens will not be provided
Peace to you my spaceship brothers and sisters!

Brother, I don't know what most of that stuff was; but that post was funny.

The mighty Pac12. I might be old but I remember around that time people were calling it the worst conference in the P5. I can’t understand why every team left that conference and now it is full of G5 teams?

Sorry in advance, but I gotta get on this soap box w/ my mega horn:

I had to verify this post, & here’s the data: looking at the conferences winning % from 2018-2021, here’s where the PAC-12 ranked:

2018:
1. SEC (.621)
2. Big 12 (.563)
3. ACC (.556)
4. B1G (.542)
5. PAC-12 (.536)

2019:
1. SEC (.594)
2. B1G (.570)
3. Big 12 (.555)
4. PAC-12 (.542)
5. ACC (.536)

2020:
1. Big 12 (.539)
2. SEC (.517)
3. ACC (.509)
4. B1G (.505)
5. PAC-12 (.492)

2021:
1. SEC (.603)
2. Big 12 (.581)
3. B1G (.572)
4. ACC (.534)
5. PAC-12 (.470)

4 yr avg. for each conferences respective win%:
1. SEC (.584)
2. Big 12 (.556)
3. B1G (.547)
4. ACC (.534)
5. PAC-12 (.510)

Now this is the spooky part in which I had to examine:
Compared to the PAC-12:

from 2014-2017: .565

from 2010-2013: .551

from 2006-2009: .536

from 2002-2005: .557

from 1998-2001: .552

from 1994-1997: .541

from 1990-1993: .539

from 1986-1989: .551

from 1982-1985: .530

OK here’s my point: IN MY LIFETIME, the PAC-10/12 has never been as bad in any 4 yr period like Mario had the luxury of enjoying. He coached in the worst era of PAC-12 football right b4 the collapse. Now do u guys see y TV/Cable networks were iffy of dropping a bag on this conference?

During these pre-Mario yrs, the PAC-12 wasn’t always the worst conference, but by the time Mario became HC they were. Now to put this into perspective: UO was already a Nike machine at this point, so imagine struggling in the worst conference w/ unlimited resources.

The 2020 PAC-12 title was simply by happenstance; Oregon didn’t qualify for that title game, but a Covid outbreak forced them in to it. There’s two things that the apologist hang their hats on:
1. Two conference titles when one was literally due to an outbreak
2. The road-game at OSU w/o K Thibs.

I won’t take away the O$U game, but if u’re going to give him credit for the O$U game, u have to have that same energy duly criticizing him by going on the road & losing to a 3-9 Stanford team.

When the hire happened, I was extremely pro Mario and staunch anti-Kiffin. Though Mario wasn’t my 1st choice, he was a complete upgrade. After the 2022 debacle, my UO connects who didn’t speak ill upon Mario, but did caution me of what to expect. They implored me to truly analyze his time there. They were grateful for what he did, but also said he had way, too, many head scratching moments when UO was by far the most talented team in the PAC-12.

UO from 2018-2021, particularly 2019-2021, had clear paths to the CFP based upon talent level vs. schedule. Once UO beat O$U in 2021, it was supposed to be smooth sailing. ****, even in 2020, they had the easiest path:

They started 3-0 beating:
-UCLA (3-4)
-WASU (1-3)
-Stanford (4-2)

& then inexplicably lose in back to back games to:
-OrSU (2-5)
-Cal (1-3)

A CLEAR PATH, especially with UW having a COVID outbreak that knocked them out for the whole season.

So y am I so frustrated w/ the excuses & rationalizing of 10 wins last season? B/c it was the 1st time in 40+ yrs the Miami Hurricanes had a schedule that featured ZERO top 25 opponents at time of matchup; yet, somehow the same **** that happened at UO transpired on to us when we had a 95% chance to make the CFP w/ just a win at Syracuse up 21-0!

Somehow here we r still talking about what Mario did at Oregon? Yeah, I’ll tell u what he did; he tricked off clear paths to the CFP playing in the weakest conference at its lowest point in my life time. How does that instill confidence?

He still has a lot to prove, 100% Win on the fcking field & stop talking about what this ninja did 6 yrs ago. No f’ing excuses, & I’m talking to whole board. I’m sick of this ****: Win today, fck yesterday, & maybe just maybe we can quiet all the negative recruiting. Maybe, just maybe we can stop chest pumping off of one 1st Rd pick in the past 4 drafts & start getting back to the normalcy of flooding the NFL with multiple 1st Rd picks.

It would be the most Mario thing in the world to run the table, look like world beaters, and then go to Charlotte only to have Dabo kick our *** again.

It wasn’t a losing record but 4-3 PAC 12 champion isn’t really impressive.

Just like going 10-3 and losing the Pop tart bowl isn’t really winning. A single third place ACC finish isn’t winning. It’s just a little better than usual for Miami.
He actually only got into the championship game because USC had COVID. They were out of the game until USC pulled out
