Deon Bush should be moved to cornerback

Jenkins is the best ball hawk we have in the secondary. It should be Jenkins and Bush all the way at safety.

Jenkins needs to prove he can still play the game. Missing several months with a back injury isn't something that gets swept under the rug.

Ramsey is a completely different player/talent than Bush so that reference makes no sense. Bush is a Safety, he will play Safety 95% percent of the time, barring injuries. Crawford was bad last year, Carter was very inconsistent and JaQuan is a true frosh. I wouldn't say those 3 are "reliable" going into a game today.

Jalen Ramsey has been FSUs best safety for two seasons and he was moved to CB. It's about maximizing the talent on the field. We have an abundance of safeties that can contribute. The same can't be said at corner, especially if one of the three CBs with any experience gets nicked up.

FSU got loaded with sftsys in this years commitments..Have No 1 safety and No 2 corner who will probably play safety...Golden doesn't have the problem of where to put backfield All-Americans.

Ramsey was a 5 star CB recruit that played cb and safety his first season. He also played nickel and cb last year.

bush is not a CB, but putting him at nickel and blitzing the QB would be nice .

Reading Ariz's post yesterday got me thinking. The CB depth is nearly as poor as it was back in 2011 when the only incumbents were Brandon McGee and Keion Payne.

Now, we all know that our nickel defense consists of three linebackers running to point X and standing there while our corners bail 25 yards downfield while three DL in frog stances play patty cake with the OL.

By all accounts, Jaquan is ready for the big-time and might actually provide some ball skills and some balls in general.

Here's my proposed depth chart:

CB Burns - Elder - Redwine
SS Johnson - Crawford
FS Carter - Jenkins - Knowles
CB Bush - Howard - Jackson

agreed

Riveting football discussion dear chaps. The only thing we are missing here is some good chalkboard exercises.

This.

And Ramsey was NOT their best safety 2 years ago ... The year Joyner was on that team.

Negative we should not move Deon to DB. He is a far superior safety. I saw him play plenty of DB while I was in CCHS and he makes a much better saftey.

I think Joyner and Ramsey both played their "star" position the last couple years. This year it will be Trey Marshall.

He blitzed quite a bit last year iirc. He belongs in and around the LOS.

From :56 to 1:42, and again at 1:56 (vs Stacey Coley) of this video, are clips of Deon going 1 on 1 at an SFE tryout.
Now granted He didn't show good ball skills, but IMO, He showed good CB skills.
Also IMO, if Deon wasn't the best Safety when He stepped foot on UM's campus, He would've probably got some burn at CB.
Watch this video and draw ya' own conclusions:
