Rumph is a good coach but below average at recruiting. If we win games then he should have no problem at getting top tier guys. Losing games gets what we have now

All this Rumph can't relate with Inner city Kids BS makes me want to Lol....Dude played & started on some Notoriously "Inner City Goon Squads" from 98-2001, and did unbelievably A-Okay relating with a Team full of Savages....But allllll of a sudden...he can't relate with them......FOH with that BS...

Winning helps you relate to kids who want to win.

Just win!!!

I don’t think this thread has a thing to do with Rumph’s coaching ability. He’s a solid coach. Time to get someone with a solid coaching acumen that can bring in some players to coach.
We've had some pretty **** good DBs...Some doing well in the NFL....My point is DB recruiting and coaching should be the last thing to gripe about....

Of all the Coaches...Rumphs our least F-ing problem....Trust me...
These people are clueless. Quick to point out his recruiting Misses but no one else’s like they don’t miss just as much if not more.

Plus why do people want to do amateur sh*t all the time? There’s no need to anoint dvd(I like Him but come on man) to anything when he doesn’t have ANY coaching experience. He’s fine in the role he’s at and doing **** good.

Some guys we have who are below average at recruiting and below average at coaching.

I'm not going to blindly defend Rumph because he's a former player, but i do like him more than a lot of other coaches on staff. I just can't support him if he's the reason Ivey continued to play over others this past season.

Last 4 classes he’s help land 7 4 star corners and 2 3 star corners, but we need someone “that can bring in players to coach”. Nonsensical statement. Our recruiting overall is average but great in a couple of spots, why are people just expecting elite corners to come here when Miami has been utterly average the last 2 years? With all that being said, rumph develops his guys that he does get so he’s not a problem for me and has a very solid track record in that department. We have much more pressing concerns staff and coaching wise before you even get to rumph let’s be real

Elder, Colbert, and Jackson are the 3 he’s put in the NFL and Jackson hasn’t played a single snap, Elder is atrocious, and Colbert has been good when he plays but he’s playing safety.

They undoubtedly took a step back this year. Bandy in particular. Ivey wasn’t what he was hyped to be. Blades was solid.

He was supposed to be the guy that not only recruited CB but was our South Florida plug into one of the best programs in the tri county and he struggles to recruit his position let alone help out anyone else.

Time to get someone else. I would be all for replacing anyone else on D but they’re Manny’s buddies and if you’re being honest with yourself it’s not happening. Rumph will be the scapegoat

Why does the coach have to be from Florida?

We are lacking a TON in difference makers in Florida specifically S Fla. manny says that’s our #1 priority so we would need someone with connections already. WR and Cb coach seems to make the most sense because those are always prime prospects in S Fla

How about we hire a real ******* coach from a real college program not promote some random ex-player with zero big time experience because he's a MiaMuh GuyY

Bravo!
Moreover, how about some of these Miamuh guys start cutting their teeth at other programs, preferably under good coaches and good programs so we don't have to provide OJT?

See above. No one else is getting fired for other reasons. He’s allowed to recruit more than just his position which he struggles to do anyway. He’s been gifted a few because Georgia didn’t want Frierson, Alabama didn’t want Williams (although he beat out LSU for him) Blades was never going anywhere else, we were far and away Ivey’s best offer, he truly landed Couch, and he truly landed Young.

Uga absolutely did want frierson actually. We said a lot of people were “never going anywhere else” and we have seen legacies or just assumed cane leans left and right go elsewhere in recent years. A recruiting win is a win as simple as that
