Defensive Cordinator Wishlist

Diaz will be fired eventually then. Stuff like this doesn't happen at real elite programs. If a Cordinator doesn't do his Job for Saban, Smart, Dabo and etc then he's gone...
Manny fired “his” OC a year after he hired him and brought in a new guy everybody wanted who runs a scheme everyone said Manny would never implement. There is no reason to think he will be too stubborn or stupid to fix the defensive coaching issues. But if he fails to act, then he deserves to be fired.

To say that stuff like this doesn’t happen is simply not true. Dabo, Saban, Butch all suffered similar gang bangs as young head coaches. Those guys were smart enough to fix the problems, although it took Dabo years to turn the corner.

Manny can draw a big time DC. Money is there. I doubt he pulls a Golden, but I could be wrong.

Brown, btw, would be a terrible hire imo. Muschamp would be perfect. I would like to see Stroud stick around, although I believe Banda is the guy most likely to survive.

The word has been that he wants a big Midwest job opening. That really only leaves Michigan ans ND. Michigan could open up really soon. Otherwise, seems like he honestly is happy in Cincy. I think his wife/kids are a big reason for that, but he’s turned down interest left and right for most gigs aside from his interest in Mich St last cycle.
Yeah I don’t see ND happening any time soon, and who knows if he’d want to go to Michigan. Michigan st offered him big money and he turned it down.

Has Barrow gained more experience since leaving here? I don't think Shannon would come back and he has been giving up lot of points at UCF but he was successful here as DC. If a change is made I don't see Manny going after a big name or former head coach and I also believe in self preservation.
shannon sucks

But for real...

Do y'all really think he'll fire Baker?
I mean, at the end of the day it's basically Manny's scheme. What makes us think he'll hire somebody who's that much different?

Self preservation?
I hope so.

shannon sucks
In 2001, Miami Hurricanes head coach Larry Coker hired Shannon to be the Canes' defensive coordinator. That year Miami won the BCS National Championship, and Shannon received the Broyles Award recognizing him as the best assistant coach in college football. The Hurricanes' 2001 national championship team is widely considered to be one of the greatest college football teams of all time. During Shannon's six years as the Hurricanes defensive coordinator, his defenses consistently finished among the best in the nation:

Maybe he does now...I would take how bad he sucked while here as a DC again though.

that was a long time ago and hes been passed over countless DC jobs other than UCF, where hes been trash and is in danger of being fired there too. hard pass. im over the past and there are MUCH better candidates out there

Muschamp would be a great DC hire, I just don't see him coming here. Guy is used to making SEC HC money, even though he completely sucks as a head coach. Also he'd probably be arrested for yelling at this sorry *** defense and hurting their feelings.

he also wasn't very good in his last DC role at Auburn.

Hes a politicians son. Self preservation is in their blood

Coach if you had your pick who would it be?
Sorry if you already said it.

Dan Quinn, Jim Leavitt, Charlie Strong
There's no scenario where we get Quin, but I can totally see us getting Strong. Leavitt is a beast as well and isn't afraid to confront softness, if you know what I mean ;-)

But seriously, I hope we are putting feelers out to Strong. Strong at DC to UM would be a huge WIN-WIN for each party.
