I thought the rule said that, if granted an extra year, you had to go back to the team you were with prior and couldn't "enter the portal" and go to any school you wanted?

No, IMO. Definitely not over Wilson and as much as we have invested in Blount, he isn’t coming in here right now 2 weeks from kick and getting the nod over him (nor should he).

I’m indifferent. You can never have enough grown men up front, but this would push down reps for guys I’m sure we are trying to push/develop for a bigger role and to prepare for next season. If we had an average DL and were desperate then sure, but that aint us.

All likely moot anyway, if anything he just goes back to LSU to a place and system that he is familiar with. More importantly, he is still w the Bucs and hasn’t been yet anyway.

So this thread is to advocate for adding a player that went undrafted and play him snaps over players that will be drafted and many highly drafted??? @Canes Legacy how many more days? Can you speed it up???

Players who signed pro contracts with remaining NCAA eligibility have until Sept 1 to return to their former school. However, there are several suits pending and rulings are expected prior to the Sept 1 deadline that would allow these players to enroll elsewhere. It's kinda like a Supplemental Portal window for those who went pro yet qualify under the NCAA's new "5 to play 5" rule.

Even if these judges allow enrollment in other schools, I believe registration deadlines are still in play not to mention what a late new addition might do to team chemistry.

With that said, if possible, **** Lane and bring him to me!!!

This ruling & situation is why college sports are portrayed as being a mess. In an NFL camp one day & back on a college practice field the next.

Mario & coaches would need to decide if bringing him in makes sense. Would he slot in & make us better? Is he ok in a reduced/backup role? Would players support the move or hurt feelings?

I’m all for taking him, but wouldn’t he want to pick a school where he’ll start or at least be guaranteed to play a lot. I don’t see him taking snaps from Wilson, Lightfoot or Blount
