DE possible addition?

Would he definitely start here?
Would he want to go to a place and potentially be a backup?

No, IMO. Definitely not over Wilson and as much as we have invested in Blount, he isn’t coming in here right now 2 weeks from kick and getting the nod over him (nor should he).

I’m indifferent. You can never have enough grown men up front, but this would push down reps for guys I’m sure we are trying to push/develop for a bigger role and to prepare for next season. If we had an average DL and were desperate then sure, but that aint us.

All likely moot anyway, if anything he just goes back to LSU to a place and system that he is familiar with. More importantly, he is still w the Bucs and hasn’t been ✂️ yet anyway.
Agree with everything. At this point with what we got and what we are building, I don’t see us as a match.

As soon as Mario took the UM job, he started recruiting Pyburn, who was committed to Minnesota.
Pyburn de-committed from Minnesota, but it seemed a deal where if UF offered, he was going to UF.
And UF offered.

This ruling & situation is why college sports are portrayed as being a mess. In an NFL camp one day & back on a college practice field the next.

Mario & coaches would need to decide if bringing him in makes sense. Would he slot in & make us better? Is he ok in a reduced/backup role? Would players support the move or hurt feelings?
NCAA greed broguht this all on over the decades. Coaches and ADs making millions, giant TV contracts, of course the people they're making the money off of want a cut at some point, and rightfully so.

Guys get called up and sent down with minor leagues all the time in other sports. May be what this develops into with football.

If the pro team wants you, you get yoir NFL salary, if not, get your NIL young man. Can't blame the players one bit.

First off, that this is allowed shows how utterly stupid college sports has become.

That said, we'd be stupid not to get him if he wants to come here. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Reason for this happening now is the NCAA has been neutered & it can’t win a lawsuit. Game over.

I have question for my law guys.. when senate reconvenes in September could they effectively overturn any of these TROs by passing some version of the protect college sports act?

No brainer, you take him.

He brings a talent that we could actually use more of. We have the pass rushers that are quick, twitchy with bend and that’s not his game. He’s a big olb that will eat space and stop the run. He’s kinda stiff with short arms but his physicality and willingness to stick his nose in the run game would be huge. It also allows the DC more flexibility especially with Blounts abiiity to play outside and then kick inside. Lastly this would make the Lowe situation sting less. I imagine LSU will be on him as well.

Would be a really good Field side DE behind Blount

He projects as a OLB in the league. I dont think in his best interest, or ours, to put him in Bains old spot. Im going to assume he probably wants to edge, exclusively, to improve his draft stock and I truly believe Wilson and Lightfoot give us more upside then Pyburn.

Sorry, isnt this the same kid who left UF because he wouldnt be guaranteed a certain percentage of snaps?

Yeah No thanks

Maybe Im old school but I hope cant the nonsense going on in CFB right now. Its just stupid. We've recruited and developed the talent on this team. I hope we stay clear of the NFL free agents market
