Honestly thought this kid was a take because of where he went to HS and was destined to be a career backup who wouldn’t receive meaningful snaps until year 5 if ever.

It wasn’t weird at all. He was of the best players in the city statistically. Yes he was undersized, but so was Kancey when Miami passed on him. It just didn’t work out. Better to take a swing and miss then for him to turn out being good and people ask how did Miami let him leave.

Exactly. Better to take him and have him fail here than blow up somewhere else.

He's been processed and now we go after someone better to fill that spot. No harm no foul that's just the game
