Hurricanes Football @CanesFootball
-Day 10 of #CanesCamp under way.
Christy Chirinos @ChristyChirinos
-In black today: Dallas Crawford, Thurston Armbrister, Nantambu Fentress, Trent Harris, Anthony Chickillo, Ladarius Gunter, Denzel Perryman.
-On today's agenda: practice, Al Golden presser, media day (where yes, we'll speak to freshmen for first time). Prepare your timelines.
-Catching up after some lousy traffic and David Njoku now working with LBs. Artie Burns, Raphael Kirby in red.
-Instructions to #Canes OL today include "Rip somebody's face off!" Happy Friday. @ University of Miami http://instagram.com/p/ruCttgKQic/
-Ufomba Kamalu and Ereck Flowers get into it a little. Right in front of Golden, who steps in to break it up.
-Okay, Heaps in with ones now. Connects with Clive Walford. Now hits Duke.
-You can see why Dallas Crawford is such a hit on defense. Just got to Gus Edwards. Didn't stop trying to strip that ball.
-Tracy Howard and the Canes are done for the day. Time to cool off. http://instagram.com/p/ruNUKrKQiu/
-Golden says moving Njoku to LB isn't permanent. Trying things out.
-Golden on Kaaya: "He came in at 228, he's 206 now. He leaned out. His endurance is good...he's better in the pocket."
-Golden on whether he'd feel trepidation starting a true freshman QB at Louisville: "Absolutely not. Not based on what I've seen."
Manny Navarro @Manny_Navarro
-Same #Canes wearing black defensive starter jerseys today. Minus Kirby who is in red non contact jersey
-#UM says freshman David Njoku has been moved from WR to linebacker. Just to provide depth I assume
-Also, the smallest player on the team, 5-5 walk-on WR Josh Johnson, is moving to DB.
-CB Artie Burns and LB Raphael Kirby in red non contact jerseys. Burns hurt his right foot Thursday and was in a boot #UM
-Receiver Rashawn Scott out here with his right arm in a sling. We know it's a shoulder/clavicle injury #UM
-Rashawn Scott following the receivers around the practice field. Shame he's hurt again. Golden had high praise for him #UM
-It's a Bon Jovi morning at #Canes practice. Wonder if Al is a fan
-#Panthers and #Browns scouts at today's #Canes practice
-Should be talking #Canes with @MarcEEisenberg on @640Sports now at 815 from practice
-#Canes getting chippy in practice today. Run drills lead to that #UM
-Ufomba Kamalu has been a fire starter today. He got into it with Feliciano and Duke stepped in. Trash talking between teammates #UM
-Freshman RB Joe Yearby showed some nice patience waiting for a play to develop and then hit the hole hard for a nice again #CanesCamp
-Heaps takes first set of reps with 1st team in 11 on 11. Kaaya next. #UM
-Offense winning today's 11 on 11 action. Nice run by Gus Edwards just now up the gut #Canes
-Fentress continues running with the first team at weak side with Kirby out #UM
-This time Kamalu collects a TFL on Gus The Bus. Second unit in. Kaaya leading #UM
-Clive Walford drops a pinpoint pass from Heaps. Would have been a big gainer. Pass was money #UM
-Kaaya guiding the offense downfield in the two minute attack. Nice medium pass to Brady #UM
-Golden, asked if thinks teams will stack eight in the box to slow down Duke, said: "I hope so." Has confidence in passing game #UM
-Golden said he wouldn't be scared to put a true freshman out there at QB on Opening Night #UM
Matt Porter @mattyports
-Heaps running first team to start, Kaaya second. You'll remember yesterday it was the reverse.
-WLB Raphael Kirby (unknown injury) and CB Artie Burns (foot/ankle) in red (no-contact) jerseys today.
-Freshman WR David Njoku is moving to linebacker. Out here wearing No. 50, hitting the sled. #Canes
-Njoku move is sorta surprising, but #Canes need athleticism and depth at LB. WR 1 of the deepest spots on the team, w/ deep '14-16 classes
-Njoku doing what Denzel Perryman always does when he's not in: standing in center field next to D'Onofrio asking questions.
-Looks like they're working Njoku at Sam, which makes sense given his size (6-4, 225)
-In black: same as yesterday, minus Kirby. In orange: same as yesterday.
-Also, the smallest player on the team, 5-5 walk-on WR Josh Johnson, is moving to DB.
-West Boca High alum Corey King and the defensive linemen jog to the next station. #Canes http://instagram.com/p/ruEi85KCNZ/
-Ereck Flowers is bringing violence today. Just threw a forearm shiver at Ufomba Kamalu.
-Fun watching Braxton Berrios in the open field. Small and shifty.
-Golden on Njoku: is he an H-back, X-WR or Sam? 6-4, 230 ... taking a look at him at Sam b/c length/size combo. Doing same w/ Trayone Gray.
-(Trayone Gray isn't a LB today, just saying he can/will move around.)
-Golden asked abt the "next big thing" on his to-do list, post-NCAA cloud: "I don't know ... watch the film and maybe hydrate a little bit."
-Seriously answering the question, Golden says he hasn't discussed anything with Blake James yet so "that's better in-house."
-Golden on Rashawn Scott: not a season-ending injury. Not sure if 3 or 4 weeks ...doesn't want to speculate.
-Golden said Tucker and Fentress playing LB has fixed that depth issue #UM
-Golden on Chad Thomas: 260-plus and "didn't lose any of his twitch." Says he's leading already -- other day several teammates told me same
-Golden said LB Raphael Kirby and CB Artie Burns (both in red today) should be back soon. Burns (foot/ankle) jogging today
Susan Miller Degnan @smillerdegnan
-UM punter Vogel just kicked a beauty of a punt that landed inside 10 yard line
