Dawson

This offense went to dogsh1t right after the bye. How/why?

Did GT (and subsequent opponents) throw us curve balls by zoning up out and thus proving that this was truly our/TVD's kryptonite? Honestly, genuinely curioius.

I've heard the theory that our offense changed from the onset of the GT game and we never once looked back to games 1-4.
Maybe Mario was disappointed at how we weren't physical enough to start the year and decided to make changes during the bye. All that throwing the ball around didn't sit right with him.

I'm not sure Lane could fix Tyler at this point

Lane probably secures a top notch portal option in the offseason and never puts himself into a position to have to depend on TVD. Even if he would have whiffed in the portal, he would have benched TVD already regardless.

Let's stop bringing up Lane because it simply acts as a reminder and also makes me want to vomit in my mouth that we passed on him for bro-style.

GT game we had 23 first downs with 453 total yards. Onviously not the points we wanted, but 5 turnovers was the issue.

UNC game we had 28 first downs and 486 total yards with 31 points. We also dropped a fumble at the 2inch line should've had 38 points. Problem is we had 4 turnovers

Me theory is the offense may have gone more conservative, BUt it wasn't after the bye week.

It was after these back to back games where we turned it over 9 times, with 7 being INTs. You want to make a HC or OC more conservative? Throw 7 INT in 2 games.

They weren’t conservative in NCST.

There are open receivers. What else needs to be done?

The QB sucks.

But he’s more experienced than the alternative. You have to scheme around his limitations if you’re going to keep trotting him out there.

Or…

Do what I want.

Give Williams the full playbook and see what he does. See if he’s going to be a part of the plans moving forward.

Coaching around a shell shocked QB is a tall feat for ANY COACH. Even the great Bill Walsh or ANY Reid would struggle.

Put yourself in Dawson shoes for a sec, you got a boss that wants to find ANY excuse to play Brostyle slow style offense and you got a QB giving him EVERY excuse to force your hand.

We call slants? WR half *** the routes. We call RB screen? Rb outrun his blockers and gets tackled for loss. We Call TE seam? Drop.

We check it down? QB overthrows or it's dropped or we throw it to Fuqin McCormick.

Albeit he is the OC it'd really hard for me to blame him when i see the QB struggling. Hey, Maybe we ain't reppin the plays as much as we should against the proper looks. That's just me trying to be fair though.

I'm my humble opinion ain't no coaching around Tyler. No coach can recover a shell shocked QB or protect him because defensive coordinators ain't dumb. They gone sit on ALL the protective plays if they notice you trying to hide your QB. That's why it's IMPERATIVE to execute the plays mentioned as well as have the proper personell doing it. It's the only way to keep a defense honest. It's too risky to continue to try certain plays multiple times in the game because you risk turnover probability rising.

We are getting to the point where we are starting to nitpick ****. The QB sucks guys. Time to let it go

You guys love dealing in black and white on this site. It’s wild. It happens every day on here when in the real world, very few things are black and white.

The story here is Miami is playing with a completely broken, shell-shocked, injured QB with zero confidence. His brain is fully broken, and his body is partially broken.

AND!!!!!!!! The offensive coordinator is doing him ZERO favors. We have a kid who wears #0 who has been really dynamic with the ball all year. We gave him that ball zero times last week. None. We did nothing creative. Not a thing. NC State has a very average, at best, quarterback. They know that. They had 3 different kids take snaps. Miami didn’t run a single misdirection play. No throwback screens. No RB screens. No reverses. **** I don’t think they even faked a reverse with some jet motion. Just as boring a scheme as the day is long.

HOWEVER….we had a kid very open in the endzone for a TD. And our quarterback threw a terrible pass, again, and we took points off the board. Again. Riley Williams still can’t catch. Cam McCormick is the tin man in space. We asked 7 and 4 to block linebackers.

Again, it’s a lot of different things. These “TVD or Dawson” threads are bozo ****. Neither one of them are carrying their weight right now. The OC isn’t helping the kid, and when he does, the kid is dropping the ball. All of a sudden, literally too. It’s a confluence of ******* suck.

Yeah everyone has to work together and do their part to suck this bad.

Lane got Oklahoma St. starting qb to transfer to Ole Miss this past summer, and he already had Dart who started last year.

This is spot on.

For his sake, he should take a job elsewhere next year.

I think having a statue as a quarterback is really giving him fits. Tune masked a lot of **** last year, both on and off-schedule, with his mobility. That element is completely gone with TVD, obviously, and I think he’s struggling trying to tailor an offense with a kid who can’t move. And him being totally broken mentally sure isn’t helping either.

Lane wouldn't have put up with this so long....
Your 🤔 right on that brother. Maybe INT… I mean TvD is blackmailing his way into starting. Or maybe they don’t want for him to be angry after he transfers and gives away Dawsons Super Secretive playbook. 🤣😂 hey just for kicks and giggles ( Emory and Young right before TD vs Clemson )Emory: I’m sorry for cursing Im about to spew from my mouth My LORD🙏🏾 but we are focking scoring right now!!!! Hey Young Baby you know what we doing! Young: Oh yeah!!! Emory: In the name of football 💪🏾JESUS!!!! and Merica!!! 🇺🇸!!! On the other hand just imagine after the huddle (TVD when X is not in the game but he thinks he is while only using his inner voice and think he can communicate with X telepathically) TVD: ok I know the play that coach wants, but my Roomie knows what we doing right Roomie??? X???? which way did he go???, and as he realizes after l👀king at the sideline and makes 👀 contact with the X-man telepathically he receives a message. X : I’m on the sidelines dummy!!! TVD: 🤯 😖 Fock what’s the play again😬???? 😂🤣😂🤣😂

After the UVA game and the refusal to use any tempo, I went back and watched the A&M game. I didn’t believe the difficulty against zone was the whole story. After that and watching the State game I noticed there is little to no chance for TVD or Dawson to make a check at the line, and the few times there was, they didn’t. I’ve mentioned multiple times that as soon as we motion guys in to the line, State’s 3rd safety came crashing into the box leaving Horton and sometimes Colby with 1v1. Nobody even cared to look at that. Idk if it’s Dawson not letting TVD change a play, TVD not wanting to, or not having the time bc they continuously break the huddle with 12 seconds on the play clock.

I can say for certain the lack of play action is mind boggling.
Between the pick in the endzone against NC State and the obscene underthrow against UVA, it'd be really easy to convince me that something is significantly physically wrong with TVD, and for whatever reason we still think that gives us the best chance. Those were insane misses. So, either he's really hurt, he's gone Rick Ankiel, or he's shaving points like in Blue Chips.

He looked pretty healthy pregame. Don’t get me wrong he’s not 100%, but he’s not last year hurt. At least he doesn’t show it in warm ups when he’s moving around and throwing 30 yards without and issue. I think it’s mental.

If we did not lead the nation in turnovers we would be 8-1 right now. I’m not going to bury Dawson yet.
