I wouldn’t be sad to see to him go
Venebles was just waiting on the Oklahoma job to open up. Kinda like kirby was waiting for Georgia, dawson may be waiting for a p4 job. VT is a solid spot but its too earlyIf Dawson’s unit remains #1 in the country for a second year in a row we need to back the money truck up for him and keep him on how Dabo had that douche venerbles
I swear I was reading through these replies about to say the same thing when I got to the end. He don’t give me HC vibes. The DC does for sure.Nothing about Dawson says “head coach” to me. Plus he’s not known to be a great recruiter. Some guys are meant to be coordinators, and that’s fine. He’s still a millionaire with 1/10 the pressure of a HC.
The reality is a lot of jobs could open. A lot being ahead of VT on the pecking order. Arkansas, UF, SMU (If Lashlee leaves for greener pastures), Arizona State (Like Lashlee), LSU possibly if Kelly gets canned. Does LSU hire him, absolutely not. But they’d hire someone worthwhile. Opening another job. Oklahoma State is probably open. So many dominos have to fall. His Agent would be doing a disservice if they narrowed in on VT.Venebles was just waiting on the Oklahoma job to open up. Kinda like kirby was waiting for Georgia, dawson may be waiting for a p4 job. If im him i wait to see if golesh gets hired from usf then i build my name there
A friend of mine who is a big VT guy said they are going to go all in on Dawson. He may be full of **** but it would suck to lose him.
The run game is Mario's lol..Dawson has done a great job. However it’s an easier job when we recruit like we have. If Mario finds someone similar who can include variations of the running game, draws, etc I think k this offense can go to even higher level. As good as Dawson has been there is room to grow. If he leaves the unknown is who does Mario bring in but he has proven himself to be very careful and tedious with his process. Plus with more success the choices should be more qualified.
This season should tell you that Dawson would be a pretty big loss. We have replaced half of the starting offense, including the entire receving corps and QB, who did not practice till summer and have not missed a beat.I wouldn’t be sad to see to him go
Not happening unless something goes terribly wrong. I know it’s unnerving for us but it’s actually become a good place to be.A friend of mine who is a big VT guy said they are going to go all in on Dawson. He may be full of **** but it would suck to lose him.
I’d be stunned if he made a move before Hetherman.I swear I was reading through these replies about to say the same thing when I got to the end. He don’t give me HC vibes. The DC does for sure.
Same. I dont think every coach has aspirations to take on the duties of head coach. Pay the man, and make him consider if the extra accountability and workload is worth it.Dawson gives me laid back step dad vibes. Of course I've only gotten surface level impressions from interview clips so who knows.
I’ve heard:
-Beamer (USCe - pipe dream)
-Jamey Chadwell (although the shine is coming off)
-Tyson Helton
-Will Stein (although UCLA could be in on him)
-Jimbo Fisher
-Glenn Schumann
-Ben Arbuckle
