Thing is if you’re gunna be super selective about a HC job, most top programs aren’t hiring first time guys like that, so a program in B12/ACC or lower end SEC/B1G is likely best you’d hope for.

The best offer that he’d probably jump at would be UF. But I’d think UF would hire Fisch over Dawson. but like also with UTenns success and Giles’s doing well at USF, I’d think top teams would go with him too over Dawson…

I think the climate is changing more than ya’ll think. I’m not saying you’ll look up and he’ll be the head coach at Taint or Alabama. But he can 100% get a better gig than va tech if it falls right

They need $$$ . Beamer supposedly makes more than 2x what Pry made now. They need more NIL funds, too.

I read that they estimated needing $200 million budget going forward to be competitive and they only have $144 in their current budget...

He'd be crazy to even think about Va Tech without some serious $$ committments and support from the Admin. Mario could give him some tips on that negotiation!

Muschamp had same when he left UF. Not near the contract but still a good amount of money.

What type of offers do you guys actually think Dawson is gonna get? Serious B1G and SEC programs aren’t going to go after him. Auburn, Alabama, Michigan type programs will not be beating the door down for him.

If he wants to be a HC, he can certainly do worse.

I didn't say any job. I said P4, and even if you were Dawson telling me otherwise I wouldn't believe it for a second.

Dawson has done a great job. However it’s an easier job when we recruit like we have. If Mario finds someone similar who can include variations of the running game, draws, etc I think k this offense can go to even higher level. As good as Dawson has been there is room to grow. If he leaves the unknown is who does Mario bring in but he has proven himself to be very careful and tedious with his process. Plus with more success the choices should be more qualified.

Dan Mullen - VT assistant AD left to be the AD at UNLV right before things went to **** at VT. Possible package deal to keep an eye on.

A couple of those coordinators will turn down Tech because of the lack of resources and can get better jobs in a year or two.
