VT is not going "all in" for a guy that has never been a head coach. He also doesn't seem to be a cultural fit. Dawson is not running that high octane offense with a bunch of lunch pal guys.

Was going to write that, but only slightly differently - why not wait til December to survey the landscape for the best gigs available? I get VT is available right now, but who knows what else will open up. Ucla is also looking for a coach....and we still have two weeks of September left. UiF will likelybe looking as will many others.

VT can't afford Beamer. He's making almost double what Pry was making, and that's without the buyout. I also don't see Beamer going from an SEC school to VT. If he jumps to something in the near future, it's another big name school.

VT has a ton of issues. They are VERY likely to not make the cut on the next round of expansion. Any coach will need to be ok with having a 1/12th chance of making the CFP only to get their asses beat lost times by 3plus scores.

This is assuming VT is willing to even pay for a good coaching staff and still has NIL to land second tier kids and keep them away from the p2 scores that do make the cut or are already p2 that recruit the same areas. Maryland, PSU…
