Dawson is fed up with the inside run talk

never thought I'd say this to a blind man, but you're lucky

apparently you missed all 4 backbreaking interceptions, including the one that was thrown while we were in field goal range to tie the game with time outs in our pocket
We were down 14-0 10 minutes into the game. We only ran the ball 8x in the first half because they were crashing the A gap like FSU did and like Stanford did and we don’t do anything else. Funny we couldn’t run the ball yet the jet sweep fo Toney and he walks into the end zone.

Difference was FSU and Stanford didn’t have the personnel to keep up. LVille who is still outmatched by us talent wise but closer than the other two, had the game plan and executed it well.

One other complaint about Dawsonis the lack of variety or flow in play calling in general. Our overuse of the bubble screens is another example. Then sometimes he just pulls random stuff out, like the fake toss sweep P/A against Lville…..which didn’t fool anyone because we never run toss sweeps.

Didn't read the whole thread but he's right.
Outside zone seldom hits OUTSIDE.

Honestly there aren't that many options for outside run. Most OC's use jet sweeps or the perimeter passing game to get the ball outside. (i.e. bubbles)

He’s right that the “line moves” on the zone runs and while the run is designed to hit the outside it ends up hitting the displaced A gap. But doesn’t that change a DLs tendencies now that they have to work down the LOS rather than upfield? And doesn’t that soften them up a little bit more to traps, counters, jet sweeps, etc?

Trap should be one of our top play calls imo. Allow brock to crash down on a lb or backside guard. I do think going from then 5-10% pin and pull to double that would help as well. I don't think the splits or condensed sets are going any where

nobody is arguing the Louisville game - but complaining about the FSU game offensively (outside of player error in the 4th quarter) - is just stupid man

watch the game - they loaded the box and Carson Beck torched them. but because there wasn't rushing yards, you're using it for your narrative?

we just beat a conference opponent by 35 and rushed for 200 yards and you're crying on here like your turtle died

not to mention referencing quarter is just idiotic. pretending that the rushing attempts and wear down of the DL over the course of the game doesn't count and doesn't set up the running game in the second half just is about as idiotic as the rest of the post

our team played unmotivated against Louisville (particularly in the rushing game) and we still would have won if it weren't for an epic meltdown Carson Beck game.

the rest? shut the **** up about it or go follow UF and FSU and ***** over there - there's plenty to ***** about in those two fanbases at the moment
You keep deflecting and talking about other things outside of the run game, which is weird bc I’ve only mentioned the run game. It’s been horrible for 10 of the last 12 quarters. No amount of bull**** you make up can change that. And if Dawson can’t answer a simple question about it, that’s a problem he should take out on somebody that isn’t just doing their job by asking a legitimate question.
