Dawson is fed up with the inside run talk

I think I'm done with Mario, and when I say done I mean done believing that we'll be anything more than a slightly above average ACC team as long as he's our coach, as of today Mario is 14-13 in the ACC, The ACC is weak bro, we took this guy over a coach that would probably smash the ACC at MIami ( Yes Lane Kiffin) who's probably about to become the highest paid coach in America BTW Lane was 17-12 at this point in a way tougher conference. I'll always be a Cane fan I can't help it, but I think I've came to the realization that Mario aint it, dont get me wrong, I hope we win out go to the ACC championship game and make the playoffs all of that, but I'd be surprised if any of that happened.

You just going to forget his time at Oakland, UT, and USC? Cool.

We can have a conversation, if you look at it in hindsight, Mario is 90-77 as a head coach, that's terrible. Lane is 112-53 as a head Coach, not great, but a lot better. If we're just being honest Mario is not a good head coach and I have come to that realization.

Dog 47 of this losses were when he was at FIU. At the time one of the worst teams in the country 0-12 the year before he took over and had no help from his admin. Took them to their first bowl games 2
Years in a row. I’d say that’s not bad

He does still run these plays from time to time. I see at least a few times a game. I get yall want it to be like 50/50 but that’s now how he sees best for the oline and what they do best. Trust me I wanna see more variety too but to say it’s never there isn’t true.
I’d appreciate if you can find the clips of where we ran this a few times in each game because in my heart of hearts I don’t remember or think it’s the case.

At P4 programs, Mario is 63-30 (.677%). Lane is 86-40 (.683%).

Almost identical.

Your posts are laughable.
Yeah and one coaches in the SEC and the other Coached in the weak Pac-12, and now is in the weak ACC. They are not the same, In a year where you dont have to worry about FSU or Clemson he may not even make it to the ACC championship game

You didn’t answer my question.

He's not wrong. The issue is we don't have the explosive back who hits the hole like a missile. That's not me trashing our backs -- I quite like them -- just saying we don't have that HR hitter in the backfield.
This. Our RBs aren't built for Shotgun runs (maybe Lyle). Would do well to mix in some under center or pistol IMO.

I was on the sideline behind the canes bench Saturday and watched Dawson go at with some old guy next to me who asked him “why don’t you run it outside more” .. Dawson getting water stopped what he was doing yelled at the guy “ why don’t you get your *** out here and do it”… lol

Didn't read the whole thread but he's right.
Outside zone seldom hits OUTSIDE.

Honestly there aren't that many options for outside run. Most OC's use jet sweeps or the perimeter passing game to get the ball outside. (i.e. bubbles)
Coach I think what keeps getting lost in this “Run game” discourse/back-and-forth isn’t that we run the ball…

It’s the PREDICTABILITY in which we run…

Everybody KNOWS when AND where we’re going to run…

That’s the freaking problem…

Sounds like someone is growing some rabbit ears

That’s what those who are supporting this brand of football don’t understand. It’s much more difficult than it has to be. Instead we’ll just continue to run into a brick wall head first.
Put Rodriguez in there. There is no way he would be worse at this point.

Uh oh, you are about to make some heads blow up by offering actual information.
And why would his comment do that mane…?

Others have been offering actual information as well counselor…

He’s not the only player/coach on this board…

Lane coached 43 games in the Pac-12. His conference record was 17-12.

He has coached 8 full seasons in the P4. He has reached 0 conference championship games.

You're clueless.
