Dawson is fed up with the inside run talk

Moving guys to the tune of under 4 yards per carry good for 75th in the country. Really impressive stuff.
I don't where you get your numbers but we're averaging 4.3 ypc and are 67th nationally. And that will be against a schedule with 10 P4s and a G5 playoff contender.

Do you think 2023 Michigan was great up front?

Because they averaged 4.5 ypc and were 45th.

My numbers are against P4.

Idc what Michigan did in 2023. What does that have to do with what Miami is doing this year? That’s also such a lazy argument. That slept walked through about 10 second halves bc they were already up 30 at halftime.

He answered the question by saying that it's a non-sensical question. And then he explained why.

People who run a YouTube video and then proceed to *not* listen are lame.
Eh he was pouting.

I’m not saying it was a good question or that Dawson doesn’t know his stuff, but the way he handled it makes him look silly IMO.

Shouldn’t be that easy to get under his skin given the nature of his profession and exposure.

Lane coached 43 games in the Pac-12. His conference record was 17-12.

He has coached 8 full seasons in the P4. He has reached 0 conference championship games.

You're clueless.
Yeah and USC was on probation, he only lost 3 more conference games than Mario, and had 6 less wins with Major scholarship reductions, Mario can't even dominate the weak *** ACC while Clemson and FSU are down...

One of Dawson's best qualities is that he's *not* like that. He doesn't think he's the smartest guy. He doesn't complicate it too much.

This fanbase is dumb.
Since I guess your kin to Dawson…. He’s looking more and more like Cam made him last year and it was a mirage of his actual coaching talent

Indiana is having No problem dropping huge offensive numbers with a tenth of our blue chip ratio and sean McKay or Kyle shannahan ain’t calling the plays either

Dawson is entering "I'm tired of dealing with the dumbest fanbase/media pool in the country" territory. I get why he's annoyed(Some of the stupid narratives surrounding the program are annoying to listen to, and I could only imagine how often he has to answer dumbass questions from the pool about said narratives), but it is also a pretty rational question.

Miami's bread and butter is interior runs, we all know that, what people are concerned about is that we act like the grass outside the hashes aren't allowed to be utilized. We refuse to make the run game a bit easier for our OL by using alignment and formations to lighten the box. Miami lightened the box last year, which made it easier for guys like Martinez to find holes.

Beck may be more comfortable with condensed formations, but it makes running more difficult, especially for someone like Lyle, who is a daylight runner. He isn't a plodder like Fletch, and it's obvious when he gets swallowed up. He needs space and the easiest way to create space for a guy like him, or even Marty Brown is to make the defense cover the entire width of the field, instead of playing in a phonebooth.

You know what I love? " oh the coach knows more than you". Bich the doctor also knows more than me, but I can tell of he fk'd up the surgery and something inside me hurt even if I dont know the scientific name for the organ he fkn punctured
The issue is that there's a difference between "The doctor botched a surgery" and "I know more than the doctor, because I saw something online". That's the difference. We see this in public health today, too many idiots are running around screaming nonsense, because hard earned expertise isn't respected. No one is saying to blindly accept expertise, but you better come with some legit proof that a concept isn't working.

Miami had the #1 offense last year, it is still a **** good unit this year, and that's with Miami having to break in a lot of new, unproven guys in the WR room and at TE. The OL has taken a step back, because Brockermeyer isn't Lee or Carpenter, but he's serviceable. Beck isn't Cam Ward, but there isn't anyone in the country that is Cam.

We have multiple years of proof of concept. As long as the QB isn't a complete moron(TVD), and turns the ball over at a high rate, this system works and can be effective. Is it always pretty? No, but it is simple, and overwhelming to most opponents.

I was on the sideline behind the canes bench Saturday and watched Dawson go at with some old guy next to me who asked him “why don’t you run it outside more” .. Dawson getting water stopped what he was doing yelled at the guy “ why don’t you get your *** out here and do it”… lol
Oh he knows the narrative. Remember No D cussing the fans at the FAU game? Vibes

We can have a conversation, if you look at it in hindsight, Mario is 90-77 as a head coach, that's terrible. Lane is 112-53 as a head Coach, not great, but a lot better. If we're just being honest Mario is not a good head coach and I have come to that realization.
Mario took the worst job in FBS at FIU, and by the time he left, he took that program to multiple bowl games, and out of the 5 times that school has won 6 or more games in a single season, Mario had two of them by himself. His overall record is tainted by the FIU run, because they were so bad and success is almost impossible to maintain when you don't have any support.

We lost to Louisville because they knew what we run, they prepared for it, we ran everything they prepared for and loss. If fans are so dumb, why the fk should we go to the game then? To listen to the dumb *** DJ? Fk these people. Dont be condescending about legit questions. I hate smartest guy in the room syndrome. Its fkn fine running Duo, running it 80% of the time and then have your offense stoned for full quarters is a dumb idea. Especially when you see they crammed their entire front 7 to stop the inside runs. I may not know the fancy name he call his plays, I can see the same fkn blocking scheme and where the play is intended to go. ESPN put the graphic pf us being #1 by far running the ball inside. Its by design. I rather his bich *** say that's the way we play and we ain't changing than this dumb *** **** like we stupid.

He was perfectly fine. Obviously annoyed by second guessing & noise, but handled with playfulness & touch of humor. Having a little fun with the reporter who asked a question he wasn’t able to defend. Ended with Dawson smiling & winking at him as conference ended.

Yeah and one coaches in the SEC and the other Coached in the weak Pac-12, and now is in the weak ACC. They are not the same, In a year where you dont have to worry about FSU or Clemson he may not even make it to the ACC championship game
Paul Finebaum,is that you?

Miami lost to Louisville because Carson Beck threw FOUR INTERCEPTIONS and couldn't accurately deliver the football even if he made the right read(which was rare). If you watch the film, he was making poor reads all night long, there were a ton of big plays on the table, but you had to be patient and take the check downs and intermediate stuff., It was the old GT strategy from last year, see if Beck could tolerate long marches and he didn't, hence why he was throwing up prayers.

Intelligent, competent people are tired of having to humor people that obviously don't know a **** thing, but swear they do. Dawson probably reached his limit and spoke accordingly. It was a dumb question, and he answered it in a way that answered the question while also showing what he thought of said question. Had the reporter asked more about formations and the like, I'm quite sure Dawson would have had a different answer, because that's an actual legit criticism.

"Hey Coach, last year, the formations utilized were more about creating space through alignment, this year, it's a lot more condensed. Do you believe that some of the difficulties in the run game are a result of the increased traffic and bodies?"

Because Mirabal was under the podium hitting him in the A Gap of his nuts
