Dawson get in here…

With a QB with Mensah’s accuracy, a line that can at least protect for 3 seconds, and Malachi Toney and the supporting cast of WRs… this offense should be unstoppable.

But asking the line to block for 5-7 seconds or Mensah to extend plays is just not a formula for success.

Also… tell me that 4th down Fletcher run into an 11 man front wasn’t straight up dumb.

They were alot of dumb calls. He also had some good ones. 1-0 is all that matters. Not everyone is perfect and it’s real easy to critique someone from your couch. But we will see who is right in the end. If he is as terrible as yall say he will be gone.

You’re right… we don’t know the progressions… but Mensah consistently holding the ball too long waiting for the downfield routes to develop makes me think it’s not just a Mensah thing.

we had 14 points in the 4th qtr. not good enough.

Interesting hometeam…I’m being told that Mario and Mirabel is calling the plays. 1 poster is saying it’s so bad that Dawson has to check with Mario to give our QB the play called 🧐

I can only wished that I could have that kind of access to my favorite sports team 👀 Deep insider

Mensah tries to go for the home run, when he should sometimes take the single.

Take the check downs, scramble when the defense is leaving an opening, etc.

And threw a pick. Is that the OCs fault? Gotta be able to get half a yard on FSU. Much like last year, I’m not thrilled with the push in short yardage. But when we wake up tomorrow, Miami is #1 in the AP poll and has the #1 offense in America. I could be crazy, but I think it could be worse.

He’s definitely not terrible. Actually - as streaky as he is (Cribby nailed it of course) - I think he’s one of the better coordinators in the country.

But I don’t understand why we aren’t living off quick rhythm passing with this personnel… and of course that opens up the back end (better than Mensah getting sacked or scrambling into a low % throw).

It’s almost like Dawson thinks he still has Cam under center.
 
Anyone blaming dawson this game is blind. He saved us when mensah was trying his hardest to lose the game.

He had to do gimmicky trick plays for us to win. Same thing he had to do for beck last year, but this time we don’t have that oline.

At some point the quick game, which mensah was also missing guys in too, will not work. We have to create explosive plays and the QB and WRs haven’t done that since wake forest 2nd half. You can’t scheme or trick play your way out of those limitations with the oline/qb/wr rooms in the drop back pass game

you have to take the good and bad. we sometimes go long stretches doing nothing at all. same as last year, then he gets it going and we look incredible. more consistency

I hear you. But we look up and we have an elite offense every single year. My barometer is often what happens if these guys left? Dawson would be an OC at a Top 15ish school before he had his bags packed here. He’s a very, very good coordinator.

I miss Carson Beck ngl at times it feels like that. He would take those check downs and keep the chains moving
