He told them he wasn't interested in talking to Oklahoma. He was also mentioned for USC, LSU, and UF at one stage or another. Without campaigning for these jobs at all.

I don't think most of this board understands how the CFB industry, AD's and his peers perceive him, and how much of a grand slam it would be to land him. Actually, I know.

It's an absolute shame that some of you aren't able to enjoy Miami launching itself back into relevance in front of your eyes. You're missing it.

Mario aside, the fact that Miami has completely flipped the culture and is going all out to land a top AD and what they perceive as a top HC, both of whom are employed, is huge. It signifies that they are done being mediocre and want to win championships again.

I have some questions about Mario (would be thrilled with the hire) but same time I don’t think there’s a coach outside of Urban/Saban that this place would be happy with

He’s a huge get and the combo of him and Rad as AD makes a huge statement there’s no question about that

This is where I like to talk to fans from other teams to be honest. Ones that know college ball but aren’t blinded by Miami fandom.

He’d be welcomed by me with open arms. I just don’t expect him to be the savior like some here.

I fully expect us to play much better.
Yeah same. I’d be totally happy with Mario or Lane and honestly have a slight preference for Lane. But if it’s Mario, let’s ride.

I feel like 9-3/10-2 seasons kinda becomes the norm (not necessarily next year though) and I’m super happy with that. Coastal champs. Playoff contenders. National respect.

While I don't think he'd 100% be a "savior" I think his floor is high, and I think that people here haven't seen what a legitimate program looks like for so long, they don't realize what Mario brings to the table. Even if he doesn't kill it, he's going to be a big part of creating and installing the modern program architecture we desperately need, and you know he's going to recruit his face off and stock the roster, at a minimum.

The four years he spent as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator under Saban at Alabama and the knowledge and experience he gained there will be as important as his time as a HC at Oregon IMO.

Just watch the industry and press reaction if we sign him. Watch what happens with ticket sales next year. We will be a thing again, instantly.

Let’s continue to read between the lines. Mario immediately shot down programs that could pay him as much money as he wanted; USC, LSU, UF,
and has not shot down UM. Doesn’t mean he is coming but the hermano is certainly interested.

10-2 is the norm for all the good teams outside of Bama. 10-2 puts you in position that with a few special players you can make a run at the natty.

I’ll take it all day

Facts
Alot of fans are not realizing the moment of how big this is and how other big time programs view Mario. Real big shame....I'm here to enjoy it fuq those people. They don't understand the game

I will say I think playing in the ACC has a lot to do with that record. Not sure Mario could hit 10-2 consistently in the SEC.

But yeah exactly. You hope for a season or two where the stars align, elite QB, strong coaches, good schedule, weak Clemson and anything can happen.

To me I would be absolutely shocked if he doesn’t end up here

The only one of those that would have helped him would have been usc then he wouldn't have to deal with riley.all the sec jobs including oklahoma would have been a tough go having to play a much tougher schedule then he does now.and I included oklahoma because they will be in sec eventually

We've won 10 games once, one freaking time, in 18 years and played for one ACC championship since joining the conference. If we go 10-2 on a regular basis with the possibility of an occasional 11 or 12 win season and play in the conference championship game on a consistent basis, how can you not be happy with that??? We've got to set the foundation before competing for Nattys
