2027 David Folorunsho 5* DT From Chicago, IL (St. Patrick HS)

100%. The melodrama from some folks on that board, paired with low expectations so they never feel “disappointed”, isn’t fooling anyone. Mario, D$, and anyone who actually follows CFB know that consistently landing top‑50 DL talent is what keeps programs competitive and dangerous. We haven’t been doing that lately, and it’s going to cost us if we don’t fix it.
How was Indiana's DL ranked last year? You know, the ONLY school that Finished the season better than us?

no it wouldnt because at the end of the day...if their are hs misses we are portal gawds...which can always supplement dt play with certified grown men which we have been doing
We haven't landed a single portal DT that's gotten drafted. High-quality portal DTs are extremely hard to come by and carry a stupidly high price tag. It's far harder than you're making it seem to plug that gap in the portal.

dont care if they get drafted as long as they serve their purpose HERE. David Blay played well here for a team in the MNC just last year.

Its not been that hard for us to land em out the portal as needed. Im not even concerned honestly.

Do you think Indiana is the rule or the exception that makes the rule?
No. But I think they went undefeated and achieved the one goal we all should have above all else (football related), proving that the point you're trying to make isn't a requirement. All teams have weaknesses.

Do you think all the other playoff teams had multiple five stars on their DL? Oklahoma had Stone and they looked crappy in the playoffs. I'm not going to go through the rest of the rosters. You either get the point or you don't.

I know plenty of insecure women that don't need as much validation that you do.

Well, I do care if we have NFL draft picks at DT, so we just disagree.
well maybe you should be BengalsNation26 then...cause a transfer portal player starting and being productive HERE is all i care about.
But keep on moving the goal post, we disagree there.

We landed a top 10 dt again in the portal this cycle as well lol,.

Moten will be drafted....and he goes against the bs you been saying in this thread because he was a basic 3 star player at that.

People here act as if there are 20, 5 star DTs per class lol.
We need to go back and revisit the year we got Scott

There was an absurd amount of 5 stars. Need to check back and see how that’s all playing out. I know Stone for example is a beast which is a surprise to absolutely no one, but there were a ton of “whales” that year but it was a total anomaly

In times like this, I am reminded of a few things:

1) the definition of conflict is the difference between unrealistic expectations and reality

2) Recruiting season is a rollercoaster that, if you can't handle the ups and downs, ebs and flows, you probably aren't cut out for this.

3) The height of arrogance and narcissism is when one can't even entertain the possibility that there are perspectives that differ from yours, and they're just as valid.

4) It's a fool's errand to try and get someone to move when they're devoted to staying where they are.

And lastly,

I trust the staff on their eval and what they are targeting in the trenches. It seems they want athletic tall DL who can move. Much more than a big guy who cant move so much.

If you look at much of the DL we been getting or targeting , its dudes in the 260-270 range.

Isaac Chukwurah who we got from Delaware last class is a guy i saw on film playing inside and outside. Dudes arms are almost as long as his body too.

I trust when they evaluate senior film they will find more players. Even the Zion kid from Goodyear AZ is an inside outside player in the 260 range and tall.

Yes you need the highly rated players thats why they went after Foluronshu, but its not the only avenue to find great DL, if you know what exactly you are looking for.

And this seems to be a turn made when Heatherman came in btw. I could be wrong

Feel like the rule should be getting at least 1 top 10 DT per cycle. Now it’s not lost on me that those are top tier recruiting aspirations but those are our expectations right? It is to be determined if we succeeded or failed yet. Last year we got Stancil and two years before that we got Scott.

I think if they feel they have an issue with DTs, they are gonna do like they did and just go after 15 or so. They will simply throw bags and bags at it, both high school and the portal.

They had a problem with CBs and DBs in 2024, they used 1 offseason and brought in 5 or 6 out the portal alone.

Bear Alexander was a couple years prior and he has SUCKED more than Abella Danger's fluffers.

The transfer portal still exists fam, HS recruiting isn't the end all be all anymore. if there is glaring holes this staff will do its best to field the best roster possible, losing out on 5 stars sucks of course but we've been excellent at filling holes in the portal recently, this past year it was the DB room.
