2027 David "DJ" Jacobs 5* DE from Roswell, GA (Blessed Trinity Catholic) Commits to OSU 2.0

If he left OSU for UT and not us, I wouldn’t even be upset lol. It’d be hilarious and great to laugh at OSU, and I have no issue with UT. We are great at Edge with or without him.

**No I don’t think for 1 second he is going to UT. If he leaves OSU, it’ll be for Coral Gables.
If they’re offering the $ like they did for the rb it’s def a possible . Long as he flips I’ll be happy . Like to see him at Miami but I believe we need a DT more but want to see ohio state tears .

I bet Tenn is offering a crazy NIL package deal
Probably 3 million dollar a year. If they gave a running back 2 million dollars. They are the definition of over paying team if I ever seen one. And they would still be a 2nd tier SEC team. With a 8-4 or 9-3 at best every year going forward!

This year, but I would not say every year going forward. They are spending like Oregon, OSU, Miami, Texas, and ATM. Heupel is running out of excuses with Knowles and S&C guy from Indiana. Rocky Top is a player in the NIL era.

I wonder if adidas knows we’re cruising big, so they are helping some of their other big name teams make some splashes.

Enjoy getting to know a new coaching staff cuz Heupel isn’t gonna be there at the end of the year

Count me in the group that says we dont get him. Like one poster said, I just dont think he wants to be here. This wasnt like Justin Scott who really wanted to be here but his mom didnt want him here. And ultimately we won out. But Jacobs dad and family seem to want him here more then he wants to be. This feels like David Stone all over again. Family wants UM..but ultimately will respect the kids decision.
I dont know man I think kid thought OSU was going to body us so he chose what he thought was the superior school/team. Then the Cotton Bowl happened. Changed his perception I'm sure but also it's not unreasonable to question if last year was just a fluke, lightning in s bottle type deal. Now he's probably in wait and see mode. Like I'm not flipping until Miami shows they are for real moving forward. He sees the current class and knows we are stacked just needs to see us not **** the bed this season since technically we almost didn't make the playoff last season because we couldn't handle our business against UL and SMU. That's my read on it.

shop around with the agents of all Top end Defensive Tackles - see who the biggest money h*oe is and throw the entire Jacobs bag at a DT and see if we can close.

Bruh, 10 win season in 2024 follow by a national championship appearance in 2025. I think there is a less than zero percent chance that’s the reason he’s not flipping.

My guess is his #1 priority is who will pay him the most money. We don’t have to pay the suck tax anymore so I doubt Miami is going to be the highest bidder. Oh well.

Two ten win seasons does not put us on the same level with Ohio state. In both those seasons we dropped two ACC games in which we were heavy favorites. **** near every season for the past decade taint has been a preseason favorite to win it all. We need to be a lock for the top 5 preseason no matter what each year. We aren't ranked in the top 5 right now because of our losses to UL and SMU. Mario is recruiting at an elite level we just need to stop dropping games we shouldn't lose. It's nice we went on a run last year but that isn't enough to put us on the same level as UGA OSU we need sustained success and to actually run through the schedule like a team with a vast talent advantage. This is the year. We take the next and final step this season with 11+ regular season wins and a good showing in the playoffs.

Crazy hed want Miami to prove last year wasn't a fluke but what about UT? They're never gonna come close to another Natty appearance and they'll lose more than 2 or 3 games a year

I mean as a devils advocate. In any other year of this programs entire existence we get snubbed for the playoff for ND. They are pussies who get bounced early by 8-4 so their is no transitive goodwill and every single scorching narrative that has hampered Mario since he got here would not have been extinguished but fanned. The vitriol on this site between slurpwrs and mopes is at an all time high. All on a committees decision and nothing that happened on the field.

Our credibility is so tenuous at this very moment. Literally it all comes crashing down if we lose to Stanford and go on to have a 9-3 season. We dont have any goodwill built up. It is still almost entirely projection and the questions about the staying power of Miami as a top 5 program are very much real. I believe in it all. I think Mario has us ready for the long haul and we will finish the job this season but you arent being honest if you cant see it from the eyes of a person who has no real connection to the program or worse is praying we fail.

Thankfully Mario doesn't have that woe is me attitude. We have a fantastic product to sell.

Any recruit or person who thinks UM’s credibility is tenuous has absolutely no ability to look at a roster or project forward. Only someone who lacks any and all football understanding could think this. Now maybe DJ Jacobs is such a person, and if so, he’s objectively dumb. As in IQ below 100 dumb. As in he goes to class with just 3 other students and they all work on learning their colors.

This isn’t just about the past 2 seasons, this is about the ability to look at a roster and to look at a coaching staff and project forward. Anyone at all who understands football is looking at UM’s roster not only for 2026, but for years to follow and sees a team that can go on a 5 year run. And sees an administration behind the program that is determined to make it happen.

So yes I agree with you if your point is that stupid people exist. But i could not disagree more if your point is that an objectively intelligent person could believe that UM’s credibility is tenuous.

And now he is apparently looking at flipping to Tennessee. They have proven more than Miami?

Most of these kids barely watch ball like that to think they projecting rosters multiple years out, Im sure he sees the class and stuff like that but they not paying attention like that and it has nothing to do with IQ. I think us as fanatics on a board for many years dont realize that sometimes..
