Yeah I agree with that. On the surface it would appear as though his main forte would be recruiting.
Also he can probably fill in for the void of the 10th coach. He’s in the recruiting department.
So does Rumph get credit for Tyson Campbell or Surtain for finishing 2nd/3rd in those recruitments? Please stop.Osborn and almost helped get Pickens last cycle
Who said that? I’m just saying the guy is a pretty good recruiter. I don’t want him as the receiver coach let’s be clearSo does Rumph get credit for Tyson Campbell or Surtain for finishing 2nd/3rd in those recruitments? Please stop.

What? The question is, what do you know about coaching, specifically coaching WRs, and what do you know about David Cooney that forms your opinion of him not being a good WR coach.
Because I seriously doubt you know anything about either. But I could be wrong. So what do you say?
If Cooney was such a great technical coach, why is it Wiggins and Pope have struggled to make the transition to college? those guys are physically talented and flashed at times but struggle with consistency and fundamentals.
You did. You literally cited him missing out on Georgia Pickens as proof of him being a good recruiter.Who said that? I’m just saying the guy is a pretty good recruiter. I don’t want him as the receiver coach let’s be clear
Anyone would miss out on a recruit the way uga offered that bag 15 minutes before he signed...You did. You literally cited him missing out on Georgia Pickens as proof of him being a good recruiter.
What?
What credentials do I really need To have to say I dont want an inexperienced coach at this LEVEL to be the receiving coach at Miami. There are plenty other experienced coaches that Miami could/should go after other than cooney, get real.you said that you don't want Cooney as a WR coach. You said, "let's be clear, I don't want him as WR coach".
I am asking you, what credibility do you have when it comes to how to coach WRs or what type of WR coach David Cooney is?
It's not hard. I challenged you to provide your credentials. OR, you could say, "hey buddy, I have no knowledge of what makes a good WR coach and I don't know anything about David Cooney as a coach", and go on with your day.

I respect your blind fandom, but sometimes you are really obtuse. If he is a great recruiter, so much that we should have another first time college coach, then he better have more of a recruiting track record that a 5th year transfer and a miss. Part of being a great recruiter is sniffing out those situations and focusing time and efforts where it may pay dividends.Anyone would miss out on a recruit the way uga offered that bag 15 minutes before he signed...
Exactly this. Hire high school coaches, get high school results.what i don't understand is why UM doesn't seem to want to build a huge budget and department for all these "recruiting specialist / O-consultants / D-consultants". The big boys are hiring former CFB Head coaches to be non-coaching consultants and specialist, and we hire minimal amount of HS coaches. Then we feel the need to eventually move them to position coaches... DL coach was suppose to be in that role, and I get why they slid him to actual coach last year, but ****... get him back to what you wanted him for and go hire a heck of a Dline coach... IMO patke is probably another consultant/specialist type guy. IMO DVD and Cooney arent experienced enough to be P5 position coaches and should stay where they are at. If they excel at it, then show them the money. Pay them big bucks to be happy and continue to excel at their roles...
we arent a player bag school, but ****, lets at least compete with bags in regards to staffing.
