The slick move now is the "All Lives Matter" rap. That's the way to appear color blind while being just the opposite. The filth is now subtle in their scumbaggery like their bloated tough talking silver spoon sissy Jim Jones leader when he was "asking questions" about the old dude the cops brain damaged.

You took a shot at me for not getting his 8 year reference. I get the disparity in treatment between black and white people.

This right here shows why you'll never get it man. You view this one video as "heart wrenching" but lack the wherewithal to understand the underlying issue behind that one video. You think these protests are happening because of one video.

You're a fan of a team made up of predominantly black players, many of whom have probably been exposed to some pretty racist **** in their young lives. The problem with opinions is that some people view them as facts and lack enough empathy to put themselves in others shoes. I don't see how you can call yourself a Canes fan, especially knowing our history, but then so blatantly toss out the hardships our players have to deal with by just being black.

I totally get your statement about burning businesses, the controversial (or not controversial) take on defunding police, etc. The real answer here is that there is no perfect answer or solution. There is only progress. And to date, the black community hasn't seen enough of that. One black man Iiving in the white house doesn't solve racism. This is systemic and it's clear you don't understand that.

I believe that's where a lot of the disconnect is between white people and black people - white people haven't "experienced" what black people have so it's difficult for whites to understand the trials and tribulations of blacks. That's not to say whites shouldn't try to understand but it goes back to my view of how experience is the best teacher. Not trying to make excuses, just trying to provide some perspective as to why I believe many whites don't understand the plight of blacks.

No matter ones skin color, I think we all have a tendency to stick close to our comfort zone although I do my best to not be an ostrich.

You are right about that. No way I can get in your head anymore you can get in mine. I can understand the collective trauma that being associated with chattel slavery may have on a group of people. There is a sort of emotional trauma there that can be passed on from generation to generation. I can't experience it but I can try to understand it.

I am sure other ethnic groups can feel the same thing. Jews for example?

But that is more psychological at this point than actual external barriers imposed by discriminatory laws or policies. It's more a personal journey that one needs to grapple with. I don't deny that still can be limiting. But that is a totally different battle.

It’s everything man. Being followed in stores incessantly, being afraid to drive your **** car bc you might be pulled over and abused or killed... this **** too...

As a ****** person, there’s trauma about things but it’s different than the here and now in this country. We’re not followed like criminals in stores, we’re not afraid to drive bc police might abuse or kill us... We’re not the people being mistreated in these ways.

Hey, I root for the team because they are from a school I went to and city I grew up in. I root for each player to be successful at the next level or whatever career they pursue after football. Even Jimmy Murphy.
