Dave Aranda: Great DC Or Cool Ranch Doritos?

Can we get him?

Possibly. He is getting paid pretty ****** for how good of a coach he is. I'm not into twitter but Coach Kuli starting following him about the time we found out he was going to be the d-line coach. Whether any of this means anything, I have no clue.

Holiday Bowl announcer just said Aranda to USC, has been widely rumored.

Maybe I missed it, but what are the Aranda rumors fueled by? Just speculation over Kuligowski following him on Twitter? Or was it something more than that?

Pretty much just the twitter but I did see a post on the Nebraska 247 boards just from searching Aranda from the 27th that said he was going to Miami. But who the **** knows. I just want a good DC thats all I really care about. The last 5 years have killed me.

Speaking of MSU, how would you guys feel about one of their Co-DC's, Harlon Barnett or Mike Tressel?

I would love Harlon Barnett. He is the play caller, so he has experience.

He has moulded stud DB's at MSU and the D has been awesome since their injured players
got back the last few games of the year.

Wisconsin has had a pretty soft schedule and they do have one of the highest Time of Possesions
which could affect the D numbers. I think they only faced 1 top 50 offense this season. Alabama
gave them a beating and let off the gas midway through the third quarter this season.

Amanda is a very good co-ordinator, but if you watch his D he does a lot of 2 gapping with his DLine.

I like the 3-4 we've seen from DJ Durkin and Geoff Collins at Florida the last few years. I just want
Our D to be agressive and attack making TFL, sacks and turnovers!

he gets paid 520k. Have seen nothing to indicate that Richt is interested in him or that he's interested in us but we could definitely offer him 1.5-double salary here you would think with the kool hire and giving richt 4 mil.

Wow announcer said he's only making around 520k but Alverez wants to pay him more. Said the recent USCw DC was around 800k.

One freak 4th down play from shutting out the 28th best offense in the nation of USC, with a bunch of 2 and 3 star dudes.

But we have "fans" that don't want him.

yep. love how people say they don't want the big/bloated/slow big ten defensive schemes. this guy is elite

Glad to see ya'll are enjoying Wis vs USC and Aranda is coaching his butt off, I love the Wisconsin penalty for mimicking USC's offensive calls in the 1st quarter (that comes from film study). Omaha Omaha Omaha, lol.

As for the USC vs UM debate; Miami's coaching situation is more stable long term and offers more autonomy. As for salary, SoCal has a 65% higher cost of living than Metro Miami, then add in SoCals 25% effective state income tax rate vs Fla's 8% sales tax. So that $800k- $1M goes a lot farther in Miami and when you have 3 kids that is important.

Admittedly, I dont know as much about football as the posters here. But I am watching this game, and the Wisconsin D looks nothing like anything I saw when Golden was our coach.

Good stuff Paranos, especially about the cost of living.
Nonetheless, USC is in his homestate, so can't overlook that either.
