With high school kids you might be able to sell development and college experience. With juniors who are already getting draft grades it’s about money.

Simpson is an example of the issue and he barely had tape. His issue was all about projection.

Us and Indiana aren’t a direct comparison though. Cig has two classes worth of recruits signed. Only one has been on a campus for a year. Compared to Mario, who’s fourth full class is coming in now.

IU is still in more a of roster overhaul stage than we are. Schools like TT and IU are going to bring in massive portal hauls for the near future. That’s the roster building process they are using. I don’t think either way is wrong, we are just further down the line in building our roster than they are.

I agree. But look at their HS recruiting rankings. They don’t allocate a ton of money to talented HS croots. We do, and a lot of our money goes there and to retaining those croots.

I think eventually they’ll move more towards a T15ish recruiting ranking. They’ll obviously still portal pretty hard, but eventually it won’t be as roster flipping as it is rn. At least that would be my ideal plan if I was Cig.

At what point are you guys going to realize that Miami and Mario are not going to get into a bidding war for these players and pay one kid way more than everyone else on the team at the same position.
That's how you get situations like FSU where the kids are constantly entering the portal and shaking the school down for more and more as they try to get what others got.
The money is there but they will not overspend for one guy.
Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do it.
Thank God some of you aren't in charge or else you would cause a mutiny or locker room infighting with your ridiculous spending habits and desperation.
