Technically yes, but we also know that bringing in this much money to the school is likely to free up money elsewhere. Athletic departments are not meant to turn a profit in the sense that no one is skimming profit off the top (at least not until private equity gets its hooks into college athletics). Athletic departments in the best of times break even. Which begs the question of what actually happens when an athletic department earns this much extra money. Where will that money be spent?

i have to wonder about these programs that overpay for a player how does this affect team chemistry? paying one guy a lot more than more than others at the same position may start to divide the team internally. you got to take care of everybody as much as possible.

Certain vendor contracts go up…maybe, coincidentally, vendors looking to license athletes’ intellectual property?

Doesnt matter at a school like TT since everyone who goes there is going for one reason and one reason only $$$

This. Our D is anchored by 2 top tier DE's. Without them, we arent making the playoffs let alone the champ game. This is one i would overspend on.
 
U gotta pay that man. You need someone they have to account for on critical downs. We have Lowe and hopefully Lightfoot gain some more strength and some of the other guys take a next step. You play in these big games we aim to play in you have to have these guys. UGA didnt have him,they lost to Ole Miss. We had Bain and Mesidor, we beat Ole Miss and Texas A&M for that matter.

Ran through weak competition that is the SEC then couldn’t get a sack against ACC. But I see enough potential. I’d say bring him and let him earn the reps. He’ll have to get acclimated to ACC ball.
