Fvucker just promoted Partridge to lb coach for the bowl. Rashan Gary's highschool coach. Played rival school Depaul Catholic where Walker plays. Home run hire last yr.

Golden had a run with Ice but a yr too late on the hire and didn't seal up all BTW talent to the U. Baez is holding down Gulliver and reason why he will be retained imo.

Now Richt needs other similar pipeline hires. Rumph could be a good one.

Richt needs to win, period. Winning is what kids are attracted to.

Should be an all-of-the-above approach which includes making the right hires at the recruiting coordinator levels.

A run with Ice? That was more like a couple of steps. At best.

It should be about developing the talent first and foremost. The recruiting will take care of itself once you are winning. Tim Brewster doesn't have any ties to South Florida, but that doesn't stop him from plucking kids from South Florida every single year. They not going to that shthole because of Tim ****n Brewster. They going to that trash because FSU is on top right now. The same goes for any other school that is winning at a better rate then Miami is right now.

Crablegs and co went there before they started winning championships. You gotta get the horses first. I'll give you that a winning record helps get those horses to believe, but you gotta get those Jerrigans to sign to get to the mountaintop.

8 wins is all it took for Saban to pull in his first number 1 ranked classes at both LSU and Bama, but then again he spends more on recruiting than just about every other coach out there year in and year out. Go figure...

Jimbo was able to sell them on "This isn't Bobby Bowden days any more". He was able to get Crab Legs because of FSU baseball program and Texas ****ted the bed with his recruitment. Once the infrastructure is in place, the program basically sell itself. It's all about getting those initial coaching hires right, then develop the talent from there.

Actually no one has won the ship without a top 4 class on their roster in the history of modern football.

People want to act like its the opposite but in truth it isnt. The numbers dont lie.

Also people want to act like Alabama recruits for itself, when they didn't win jack until they brought in #1 class and they spend more on recruiting than just about every other team out there every single year.

Recruiting doesn't just happen for anyone. Its a MFN battle every year and the Alabama is as good as they are because Saban prides himself on being the best recruiter in the game. He works his ask off every year, hires dudes like Mario, spends gobs of money and makes its the most important aspect of his team every single year. People want to act different because it sounds logical but its just not the truth.

Does winning help yes, but it doesn't help as much as people around here want to claim and it certainly doesn't help as much as losing hurts. Kids nowadays are prima donnas who by in large feel like they deserve the attention. I don't care who you are if you don't give it them then they aint coming to your school.

Looks like Richt is taking his time and shoring up the initials coaching hires that matter most. If from the college ranks, I'd imagine those coaches would have a nice docket of recruits that we could be in play for.

The original question was whether or not you need a pipeline on your staff to these South florida schools. Not whether or not you need recruiters on your staff. Richt has already proven himself as a good recruiter. You don't need pipeline coaches to get these kids. Saban was pulling So. Florida kids before Mario and he will pull them after Mario. The same can be said for every other big time program that came to South Florida and cherry pick the kids they wanted. It is easier to sell your product when you are winning. That was the problem with our last coach, what happens to these kids after they step on campus. Recruiting is everything when it comes to college football, but developing them is just as important. All the big-time programs that win chips have the right balance of teachers and recruiters on their staff or extended staff if you include the bagman.

If you wanna pick up a couple of kids from SFL like Alabama you don't NEED them but we need to keep most of the good ones. Add on top of that, schools all over the country are trying to pry away a couple of kids every yr. That is why you need every advantage you can get in the recruiting game including hiring ex coaches with close ties to these kids to give you that extra edge. Recruiting is everything but you must develop those kids to win and to keep recruiting going.

Are you suggesting Richt needs a SFL caddy like Golden did or that we should hire Rumph because he has an elite pipeline at his school that WILL follow him?

Win football games. Make players look great.

It'll work itself out.

If Raymond is DC he's going to kill it in SFL.......A black man with inner city street smarts, good personality, and power to offer whom he wants will kill it.......I'm praying Barrow is the DC tho D would be elite filled with SFL goons

Rumph is an alum with pro experience. Has cut his teeth at the high school level and could benefit greatly from getting an IN at UM.
Could come in as recruiting co. and work up to DB coach. Those Heritage kids would immediately have UM at the top of their list. It would be mutually beneficial.

Get better players, win more games.
