This DB class is shaping up to be very Butch Davis-esque - lower-rated guys with the skills to play multiple positions that will either blow up or flame out in college. I have to think our recent drama with highly-rated DBs has influenced our approach this cycle.

I mean how can you feel good about a 5* prospect from this state that wants to "let the process play out". I mean at this point we all know what that means. Every staff that comes in here it takes them a year or so to figure that out. Hopefully we can develop more of these guys into something than the last staff. Because if you look at the past few coaches its really a recurring theme with big name players. Usually seems to be defensive players too, interestingly enough. CBs and DTs. Cant trust em! LOL

I know Tee ..... Boy knows his football and has coached it for a while. Hey I don't mind the staff picking up great athletes who they think they can develop. Paradise camp is around the corner so we will see how he stacks up vs the 3* & 4*s.

This is a head scratcher of a pickup. It could turnout to be a very good pickup but once again many are being wild homers trying to justify this because there is nothing there outside the usual ‘trust the coaches’. If FSU or UF has taken this kids commit this early, it would have made it into their TEARS THREAD.

There are more than enough players that didn’t pan out & who freaking sucked that followed this route so stop trying to sell that story on every recruit bc it’s a gamble with all these kids. Do you see other recent NC winning programs doing this? Then understand the level we’re accustomed to & what we’re striving to get to Mr. SEC

In our hey day...what other Canes fit this bill? Pick a NC team & point to those guys that fit this bill.
