DAILY DEBATE: Who was our most dynamic defensive player ever?

The Stork Ted Hendricks
Had they kept sacks as stats back then, there wouldn't be a discussion on who the greatest defender ever was. The week after Spurrier won the Heisman, Hendricks sacked him 6-7 times. He got after him so badly that Spurrier threw the ball at him on one sack attempt. I can't recall which old coach said it, but they said that Ted would have had over 100 sacks in his three years at Miami had they kept track of them. That's crazy, especially in a time when the game was much slower, and run heavy.

Three time All-American, and would have been four had he been allowed to play as a freshman.

I always liked Hendricks' reponse as to how he managed to play for so long (15 in nfl) and largely injury free.

"Avoid standing around piles" was his answer.

Sean Taylor #26 most dynamic by a mile
Rusty Medaris he was one of my all time joys to watch as well. His motor never shut off.
