DAILY DEBATE: Who is the greatest WR in Miami history?

Complex question.

If I was building a team I want Andre #1

If I needed a first down or literally anything in crunch time I want X.

If I want someone to breakout in a game and ooze Miami I want Irvin.

If I could have all 3 Crudupt is winning the Heisman.

It's not flawed logic. X made big plays and great catches just like AJ and Irvin. Stats have to be part of the equation.

I'm a believer in the eye test too. My eyes say santana was the most explosive, AJ was the most dominant, Irvin was a combination of everything. They have better measurables and more talent than X. Restrepo put up more yards and receptions than all of um as an undersized, slow, slot receiver. That speaks to his game and career at Miami

Regarding Cam, I don't want to have his baby like 95% of the posters on here do. He was great for 1 year. He's more Washington St. than Miami in my eyes. Beck will always be Georgia's QB in my eyes. We just rented them for a year. We didn't recruit or develop either one.

Wayne/X - most consistent
Dre - most uncoverable/best prototype
Moss - most explosive
Irvin - most clutch

Hard to pick one. Don't want to forget Eddie Brown either who help put our offense on the map.

If I had to pick one I guess I'd go with Irvin.

My guy… everyone on this board is a fan of X. And no one is going to knock him because the kid worked his tail off for this school. But to throw his stats out there without context like the comparison is apples to apples isn’t the way. X passed Michael Irvin in his 5th season of play. He got to suit up for 5 seasons… Mike played here for 3 seasons and Dre did as well. Making it seem like he’s on their level because he had two more years to compile stats when they were both first rounders after year 3 and X went undrafted after 5 is craaaaazy.

I respect your opinion, for me personally its mixture of Overall Impact on the program/Talent level/stats..stats alone dont tell the whole story IMO but if you wanna say X was the best WR to come thru the U it ain't the worst take he finished w more production then anyone. by my metrics Id say hes def top 5.

X put up back to back 1k seasons and had more yards in 2 seasons than Dre did his entire UM career. In those 2 seasons, he almost put up more than playmaker did in 3 seasons

By chance… Did you actually get to see Andre Johnson play at UM? If not, then I get it and it’s ok. I just believe people who actually sat and watched Dre, Reggie, Santana play every Saturday just like they watched X have a different opinion based on watching all of them play.

In person or on tv.

Yes, I'm 45. Been going to games since I was 16. Don't remember Irvin because I was too young. Saw the others in person and on TV. My favorite game in person was Louisville in 03 followed by ND in 2017. Santana is one of my favorite players

Look, if I'm starting a team. I'd take all those guys before X. I don't deny that they are more talented. I'm simply saying X had a better career at UM. His stats primarily come from 2 seasons. Hard to argue against back to back 1k.

Most people will say playmaker and rightfully so. However I wasn't old enough to experience his college career . My pick would be Andre Johnson because he seemed to have been made in some type of football lab.
