DAILY DEBATE: Who is the best returner in Canes history (not named Hester)?

It's 100% either Roscoe or Kevin if all you're talking about is a returner. Champ was really good, Santana was really good. T-Mac was our best special teams player ever all around but not returner.
Kevin W would be my choice. Agree about T Mack. Bubba McDowell was a great special teams player also.

Gotta mention my favorite Cane of the last 10 years as an honorable mention KOR/PR.

Averaged closed to 22 yds on kickoffs and 17 on punts in 2018, including one 60-something for a score against Pitt

Also: scored the first TD under the NFL’s new kickoff rules last year, a 96-yarder against the Bills.

Probably the only standout kick returner of his era shaped like a bowling ball

*First Tier:
Kevin Williams
Santana Moss
Roscoe Parrish
Phillip Buchanan

Then…
Travis Benjamin
Duke Johnson
Lamar Miller
Daryl Jones
Eddie Brown
Brett Perriman
David Kintigh

I recall that at one point Tremain Mack led the nation in kickoff return avg yardage with something like an insane 39 yards per return. Of course, he didn’t return punts because he blocked them instead.

*Not counting Hester

Same four but different order. If all we’re talking about is returner it's either Kevin or Roscoe I wouldn't be mad at either but my preference would probably be Kevin. But the second best for me would definitely be Roscoe with honorable mention being Tana & T-Mac. Now if you were to say our best special teams player ever for me that would be T-Mac hands down. Probably followed up by Kevin or Sean.
Where would you put Ed Reed? He was nearly impossible to block if he wanted to block a punt. Maybe he was limited to that role. I don’t recall him returning kicks very often. Even early in his career. I might be wrong.

I never understood doing athletics stoned - seems counter intuitive.
Josh Gordon in 2013 wants a word. Was higher than a skyscraper and almost broke all single-season records in the NFL with garbage QBs.

To answer the question, Buchanon. Excellent vision, explosiveness and speed.

T-Mack literally won the West Virginia game for us with a "buzzer beater" blocked punt/TD. I've seen some weird things through the years in football, but that one hasn't been repeated yet that I am aware of. Weirdest part of all - and why I replied to your comments - is that the WV game sucked....our offense was like a bad case of diarrhea farts all night long and as we lined up for that punt return, I remember thinking "we need T-Mack to block this $h!t cuz our offense can't move the ball so we're not winning if we don't." And I had that thought becasue he was fuggin AMAZING as a special teams player. Next thing I know, kick is blocked. Mack almost pulled the ball right off the punter's foot he was in there so fast.

I probably a missed a PAUSE in there somewhere. Anway, here's the clip:

One of the most shocking wins ever. Amazing to witness that as it happened, even on TV. Snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
