DAILY DEBATE: How many first rounders does Miami have on its roster?

Highly doubt Bain gets into the first round with his body and measureables. He's really a 3-technique but he doesn't want to slide inside. He's not a first round talent at DE.

Blount and Lucas have first round potential, just need to put together some solid film. Scott as well.

Francis is an obvious choice.

That doesn't mean he's a 1st rounder.

I said that in jest with the typical CIS hyping up guys in the offseason. a lot of people saying he’s the best on the roster and not one saying he’s a 1st rounder.

Have come a long way

I wonder how many are going to say you hate Miami.

After watching the first round and the OL selected..I might be slowly siding with the folks who think Markel Bell could be a 1st round pick if he takes that next step. There were no impressive physical specimens at OL. I couldn’t believe how tiny Will Campbell looked. Even the kid from Missouri. And they are OTs?? It’s not such a crazy prediction anymore imo. We shall see.

Francis Mauigoa.

If Bell takes advantage of the community college loophole and stays at Miami, then Markel Bell could also be a 1st rounder.

Up until Aug 31, the answer was 0 last year as well.

We'll just have to see.

Do you think it's possible they focused more on playing ability? Not sure how you reached the conclusion that playing size equates to high draft status.

Now you are being specific, and I am being general. We traded spots from the other thread
I was being specific to begin with when I asked a question about a comment on Bell. CB, WR, DE, TE, LB, QB all get drafted on intangibles. OT get drafted on ability. He watched an entire round where OT weren't drafted for being big and that generated his comment.

You guys got some guts putting Bain on there after how yall were talking about him last year. Factoring in the propensity for thr NFL to do stupid things at certain positions:

Beck
Mauigoa

Then there’s:

Lowe
Scott (PLEASE LET THIS BE RIGHT)

Another one to keep an eye on would be SJ

I would say Lofton but I think he’s going right to Canton

Didn’t think I had to specify in detail playing ability. 🤨. But I did say “if he takes the next step” and also let’s not talk about playing ability when Shemar Stewart and his 4 career sacks went #15. NFL still gone NFL when it comes to freaks like Bell. Just an observation.
