The best I ever saw when I was in high school was Tony Smith from Southridge, my alma mater

**This is a fun thread. Thanks, OP**

From who I saw with my own eyes:

1. Frank Gore
2. Sean Taylor
3. Jerry Seymour
4. Duke Johnson
5. Lamar Miller

best backfield ever.....

The Ridge in the mid 90s

Troy Davis, Darren Davis and Sedrick Irvin

Troy and Darren were monsters

Watched them DESTROY Bradenton Manatee in the title game. They had Lamont Green on that team too.

I know these are all dade running backs....but I will take Keith Wilkerson over all of them.
I would take travis henry over anyone out of Florida at rb.
Uncle played against him at frostproof i believe. Said he had 200+ and 3tds at half of district championship

I watched every game of his career. My cousin was the center on his teams. I have never seen anything like it.
I seen him play when i was like 6 or 7. To me, he is the best back to ever come out of Florida, hands down. My dad saw Emmitt when he was stationed in eglin and he says Emmitt was better.

Well being as Travis was a NG until a freak set of injuries "forced" him into the backfield, I guess we'll never know. 3,000+ in the regular season and over 1,000 in the playoffs (playing for 3 quarters or less in a lot of games) was enough for me. I remember Emmitt too, he was on the cover of the High School Football Preseason Almanac his senior year.

First playoff game his senior year was against Ransom Everglades in Miami. We took a party bus down to watch. the Ransom coach was asked before the game if he thought they could hold Travis to under 200 (no one had or did for the season) and he replied that they would hold under 100. Second or third play of the game from our 5 he takes a pitch in the end zone, gets bottled up and reverses field and goes 95 for a TD. I was thinking, well there goes that lol!
